Running, running, running.... towards nothing or everything, Him. It's a dangerous ball game, one that leaves me no choice but to dance. You either play or get played. Trust me, this is something I won't take lying down.

Chapter one It's dark, very dark but I know I must keep moving if not he'll catch up to me. Running blindly, with no idea of where I am but I keep running until my feet feels like wood. I'm so numb right now and I know I'm going to pass out in a few minutes. No matter how fast I run, I can't keep running forever. Finally, a paved road comes into view, I've been running so much through the woods that I sigh in relief to see the road. Maybe, just maybe, I can finally escape him. Not looking or rather should I say lost in my own head, I cross the road, I didn't see it coming. The last thing I saw was the bright light of the headlights coming towards me. I became unconscious. ************************************************************************************* I stir from my sleep, squinting my eyes at the brightness of the room. I startle awake immediately. I've been caught, was the first thing that popped into my head but as I take a quick scan of the room, it couldn't have been him because if it were him, I won't be this comfortable on this very luxurious bed with silk sheets and pillows that felt like heaven but I'll be in some foul smelling basement stained with things unimaginable. Taking another look I became certain, this room was simply magnificent. It was fit for a King, it had a grey and gold theme with billowing cream curtains. One word for it would have been exotic. Standing at the foot of the bed with my back to the door, taking in the pure opulence and design of the room, someone clears their throat, startling me, I flinched almost landing on my ass back on the bed. "Woah, you startled me" I said as I look up to find the person only to encounter stormy grey eyes in which I can lose myself in. I quickly broke the eye contact looking down at my feet. "it looks like someone is finally awake" Grey eyes said ignoring what I just said. For the few awkward seconds, I noticed I wasn't wearing what I was wearing before I passed out, I started trembling, what if this person is a pervert, or a serial killer or a psychopath? Obviously noticing my anxiousness, he said "Before you jump into conclusions as you're already doing, my sister took off your cloths and changed you. The only thing I did was carry you here so don't worry." "Who are you and why are you helping me? And how am I sure I can trust you? Also, where am I ?"I retorted, while scanning him from the top of his head to his feet. He was about 6"4 with a muscular body, black hair, a jaw that could cut glass and a smile that I'm sure lured ladies in. He definitely looked interesting. "I think we should start with one question at a time, because at the rate in which you're firing questions, you would not be able to get any answers. I'm Ian Hunters, beta of Black Crescent, and yes, you're not currently on pack land. You have a very interesting scent which is why I haven't dropped you off at a welfare home or something. And to answer your question on whether you can trust me, I believe we'll just have to see, won't we?" "That's enough questions for now, my sister is going crazy downstairs preparing you breakfast and I can practically hear your stomach growling, let's go eat" he said with a blank expression no longer smiling. He turned around and closed the door leaving me alone with my thoughts. My stomach growled, I looked down at what I was wearing. Looks like the sister has really great taste in bedwear. Anyway, I'm hungry now so I'll just go downstairs. While descending the stairs, my stomach rumbled. It smelt amazing down there.it almost feels like they're cooking for a queen. "hi there, I'm kaira. This idiot's sister. It's nice to meet you officially. Please, we're not serial killers if that is what is going through your head right now because if I was in your situation I'll be freaking out right now." She rambled. She had the same eyes as Ian. She was damn pretty with her straight black hair, cherry pink lips. Their parents surely blessed them with enviable genes, like seriously. "Just shut up already, let the poor girl eat. This might be her last meal. The alpha will be here soon" he said while rolling his eyes. I picked up the plate of food, ready to dig in when I smelt a smell that could not be any food sitting on the counter top. It smelt like every chocolate flavoured food, I could think about. It smelt heavenly, wanting to find out where the smell was coming from, my eyes shifted to the door and it began to open. I stiffened where I was, I felt the power radiating from him already forgetting about the plate of food. I refused to make eye contact fearing finding out just what I feared. I thought I didn't have a mate. What kind of mate would want me? A freak of nature. That was enough without the baggage I was carrying. I watched has his feet brought him closer and closer. I wonder if I can make it to the patio in record time before bailing. Just as I was about to make my move, I heard his voice, very hoarse and deep, almost as if he hardly uses it. "I wouldn't do that if I were you" he said his voice hinting at consequences. I began to feel despair as I felt my plan fall through, he's right in front of me now. His presence demanding attention. "look at me"he said his tone demanding. I refused to look at him, damn, it seems like I have a death wish. He growled as he grabbed my chin, forcing me to look into his eyes. I felt like I had been struck by lightening.
