The train had come to a stop, The sudden stillness waking me up. I noticed the familiar surroundings, smell and even people around me, the same spark of excitement I had when I left had come back. Finally Home

It had been Many months since I was in Birmingham, 5 and a half to be exact, it had been 5 and a half months since I'd seen Ada too, My best friend, almost like family, I wouldn't want to bore you with my tragic life story but with my mother dying a couple days after my 19th birthday she was the only one I had. Making us become even more close, we was practically attached to the hip, but then  her brothers would come sending me home. Ada had a very private family life to me but everybody knew they practically owned
Birmingham, the strange thing was I had barely spoken a word to them except for of course Ada, polly, and occasionally John He was rather friendly, but the rest I could say strangers. I didn't mind of course just odd, nevertheless it didn't stop the friendship between me and Ada

Jumping out of my thoughts, I rushed to get all my bags. Bouncing on my feet with anticipation,my long navy blue skirt swaying at my ankles, My matching navy blue coat, becoming more hot with excitement and a little nervousness I'm not exactly sure why but I know a reason is that whilst I was away I had certainly become more comfortable with myself, Becoming a proper women, holding my head high, My long almost black wavy hair loosely flowing down my back, I knew with my new found confidence and looks I would certainly get attention of men, But in a place like Birmingham it's not exactly what you want.

Almost sprinting out of the train, frantically turning my head from left to right left right when the short, beautiful and stubborn girl I could never forget came into my site with open arms.

"Oooh Elle, I've missed you, come 'ere" her thick accent coming through

I embrace her into a tight hug, warming up to her familiar scent

Feeling a tug on my Coat i look to my left seeing polly, becoming a second mother to me seeing her never failed to make me smile

"Bloody hell Elle haven't you grown up"
She says, giving me warm look

"It's only been a couple of month polly"
I giggle at her, pulling her close wrapping me arms around

One thing I certainly know about the Shelby is that they don't Waste time, I immediately know the words about to come out of Adas mouth when she drags me out of Polly's loving grip

"Right to the pub, it's not every day you turn 27" she starts picking up my things

I sarcastically groan rolling my eyes
"I was hoping you would forget"

She looks at me astonished
"How could I ever forget, now come on"

With a sigh i begin following Ada and Polly grabbing the bags left behind.

"Ya' know polly is right, you have changed, for the better I mean you've become-"
Ada pauses examining my face whilst still trying to walk in a straight line "mature, and men love that, right bastards I'm telling you"
She visibly grows uneasy at the thought

"I can handle myself" I sigh

"I know I know, just be careful, okay?"

"I will, Ada"

Turning to polly, sarcastically rolling her eyes at the petite girl next to me

After dropping my luggage off at my home we practically  ran to the pub, It was heavily raining but neither me, or Ada minded the rain whilst Polly on the other hand was shouting at us to hurry up

Walking into the pub putting my umbrella down, I fixed my hair flipping it a few time to get my curls more extravagant

"You look amazing Elle, now c'mon"
Ada drags my hand

"Right boys are in the back room so we may as well join them"
Polly says taking off her court and hanging it on a hook

I scrunch my eyebrows
"I wouldn't want to intrude pol"

"Oh give over will ya' come on"
Polly grabs me Ada following closely behind

As we all entered the small private room,
It becomes silent for a split second
It felt as if it was years with dozens of eyes staring back at me, when in reality there were hardly any everybody went right back to what they were doing unlike a select few who came over to greet us all

"Remember Elizabeth boys, wasn't that long since you saw her" Ada says as she settles in a seat

My confidence that I had only just gained seemed to seep back inside of me for a minute until John speaks up

"Elle? You look different" he smirks at me
Walking over

I roll my eyes
"Nice to see you to John" i copy his smirk, but laced with sarcasm

"How you been love" John quickly wipes
the playful smirk off of him

"It's been good, very eye opening I must say"
I take my coat off hanging it in a hook

John opens his mouth to carry on the conversation but is interrupted by Arthur
Carrying his conversation before we had walked on.

Like my usual self I rake my eyes across the room sensing for any awkwardness or uneasiness I could of caused, But my eyes stopped on another

Blue eyes piercing into  my own no sign or even a hint of emotion just as I expected for Thomas Shelby.  To be honest, i have never really liked Tommy, I don't think I'm special, I know I'm not special many people like me I'm sure of it, the only difference is I share a closeness with someone in his life.  The movement of his head making me shift back from my thought, I nod my head out of politeness, mirroring the lack of emotion on his face onto mine, swiftly looking away shortly after.

I take a deep breath, confusion coursing through my head, But i go about, I have a drink, I talk, I laugh, as if I had never left, as if unfamiliar relationships had been moulded whilst I was away, which I know not to be true. I internally Thank the spontaneous idea to go away and find myself,

Now I promise not to loose myself, not for anyone.
