1. A Short Ride To A Long Life

How you ended up in your current situation you had no idea, all you knew was that you were on your way back home from buying tayaki for your sister, riding across the sunlit park in your bicycle when you heard a shout behind you.

"Hey, you!"

"Y-yeah?" You came to a full stop, afraid you had done something wrong.

"Can you drop me off somewhere?" A boy around your age with short blonde hair and black eyes ran up, seeming to be in a hurry.

"Uh, who are you?"

"I'll tell you on the way," he got on and you gulped. He was heavy, the bicycle shifting slightly due to his weight. When he realized you weren't moving, he got confused." Something wrong?"

"Well, you see," you tried to not come off as rude," You're not exactly lightweight."

"Oh," he said and got off," Well, I'll drive, you follow."

"Sure, I mean," you got off but held the bicycle close to you," I don't even know who you are or where you want to go. Where do you wanna go again?"

"Geez, you ask a lot of questions don't you..."

"(l/n). (l/n) (y/n)," you told him," And I think it's normal that I want to know where you want to go."

"Well, I'm Sano Manjiro, but you can call me Mikey," he smiled, ignoring the last part," Get on."

"Uh, sure? But only if you tell me where," You stood your ground.

"Look, I'm kinda in a hurry here," he turned towards you impatiently.

You frowned, unsure, but decided to trust him, handing him your cycle and getting on the back . As soon as he was sure you were sat securely, he took off suddenly making you yelp in surprise, going at an unbelievable speed and forcing you to hold onto the seat for dear life as he took a sharp left turn.

"Are you sure your driving is safe?" You asked anxiously as he forced his way in between two cars, making him laugh. He said something inaudible and turned towards you, smiling. You returned his smile, albeit yours was more strained, and he turned around again.

"You don't have to be scared," you heard him say.

You came to a stop in front of a store and got off, Mikey did the same and turned to face you.

"Could you stick around for a while in case I need another ride?" He asked.

"I guess so," you shrugged, giving up as he motioned for you to follow him.

Manjiro led you into the store, which seemed to be a café of some sort, where there were three more boys inside. The blonde seemed to know them so you decided you should stick back and try to go unnoticed, which proved to be impossible when you heard Mikey tell them about you, and as they all turned their heads you gave them a small wave and an unsure smile.

One of them came up and introduced himself, giving you a warm smile which you appreciated.

"I'm Mitsuya Takashi," the ash purple haired boy motioned towards the rest and went on to introduce them to you as well," That's Hayashida Haruki, or Pah-chin, and he's Ryuguji Ken, but everyone calls him Draken. I think you've already met Mikey."
