"We must postpone our meeting to tomorrow"announced Ed, "today we all will be busy, so all of us must be gathered at the mango orchard tomorrow evening, & everyone should be on time ( he eyed at Lloyd).
"Yes brother." They all said.

{THE EVENING }

Everyone were chattering, giggling, bad mouthing people, gossiping about the decoration in the hall, so & so.

Then Y/n entered.She climbed down the stairs, with her pearly smile, her hair running down her waist, her ringlets bouncing on her shoulders, her gloves embracing her slender fingers  as she lifted her gown a bit just to avoid stepping on them. All the eyes were on her. The gossip went silent, & the room was quiet.

"Papa", she smiled and bowed, when she saw the viscount. The viscount took her hand, "Everyone, may I have your attention.  I present you my daughter Y/n. ( Y/n looks at papa ) She's been this tiny angel to me, she would read me when I'm tired. She took care of her mama. She attended to those needy peoples while I was  away from the state. She's been this tiny girl with a compassion in her eyes, spreading joy wherever she went." He paused.
"Papa" Y/n looked at him with teary eyes.
"Indeed I'm blessed, the heaven blessed me with her as my first born" he continued "On her birthday, I wish her a magical life ahead, ( raising his glasses ) here's to Y/n's graceful life."
All  the peoples raise their glasses "hear hear!"they said and clapped. And the party resumed.

Y/n greeted all the officials and received their gifts. The Duke wasn't there yet. Then the masquerade began. Everyone adorned their masks & the music started playing. Just then...

"Would you like to dance with me?" Whispered a stranger through Y/n's ringlets, "yes!" She gave him her hand, they danced to the waltz for Nala ( a piano piece ), "happy birthday" he said in a husky tone, "thank you" Y/n replied. Y/n pictured his  eyes, voice & his strong hands. But questioned him no more. They danced the whole evening.  They never got a chance to talk. And after some time Y/n couldn't find him among the crowd.   The viscountess was surprised because y/n never danced with strangers . She looked at them adoringly.

The ball came to an end. Everyone went to their respective houses thanking the viscount.

So, the party came to an end, & Y/n turned 20.
And she even danced with a stranger.◉‿◉ಥ‿ಥ

Later in Y/n's room :

I'm 20. And I feel like grown up already. Daisy couldn't be on my birthday because she had to leave for her further studies. Liz had prepared me my favourite pie, Joanne & Lloyd gifted me Jane Austen's "pride and prejudice", I loved it. Ed promised me he would give me a pony. Mama gave me grandma's Emerald necklace & Papa's birthday toast almost made me cry, I was about to wail. Am I that much precious to them?
I met with the lords, ministers, generals, & many people. They all were so kind. Then I met with the 'one', whom I mentioned in my diary all these years, he had strong hands, husky voice,those eyes that seemed innocent, hair as black and shiny as a raven. I hope I can meet him again. I couldn't see his face as he was masked. But I can show you once I paint him.
