Bottoms Up

Balloons scattered the ceilings, ribbons decorated the walls, and the table was adorned with 22 presents.

"Oh my god Soobin..." I couldn't believe my eyes.

He woke up super early just to set this all up for me.
I loved all the gifts, but my favorite was the special necklace he picked out just for me.

"It's almost as pretty as you," he said as he put it on me.

I turned around and he cupped my face in his hand. "I love you so much, Y/N."

I shake my head. That memory is too much for me to think about at the moment. I try think about a different one to distract myself with- a guy with caramel hair and a square smile comes to mind.

Why am I thinking about him?

I'm still confused about Taehyung. It's like he appeared out of nowhere, but also seemed familiar? And he somehow knew I wanted to make Soobin jealous so it's clear now that he obviously knows Soobin, so then why haven't I heard of him? Surely Soobin would've mentioned someone he hated... I make a mental note to ask Roseanne if she knows anything about him.

I turn off the water and proceed to dry myself. I make my way to the guest room and slip on the clean clothes Roseanne gave me- a beautiful champagne colored silk tank top with black trim and matching shorts. She really did always have the best style.

~ Buzz Buzz Buzz ~

I look at my phone that's lying on the bed. My older brother texted me. He's also a member in TXT.

Yeonjun: Y/N where are you? It's a mess here.

What does he mean by that? I think to myself.

Y/N: I'm staying at Roseanne's place... is everything ok?

Yeonjun: I can't find Heuningkai, Beomgyu is drunk out of his mind, and Soobin is barely talking to me or Taehyun.

Y/N: Oh...

Yeonjun: Did something happen between you two? Do I need to beat some sense into him?

Y/N: You could say that- can we meet up tomorrow? I'm going to sleep now.

Yeonjun: Sure. Get some rest.

I throw my phone across the bed and sigh. I need to rest in order to sort out all of my thoughts and feelings. Maybe when I wake up tomorrow this will all have been a bad dream.

SOOBIN POV:

After Jennie's toast I approach Taehyung.
"Hey! What was that about?"

Taehyung laughs, "I'm not sure what you mean."

"You know plenty what I'm talking about. What did you two say about me, hmm?" I demand.

I hate dealing with people like this- all of this unnecessary drama makes my head spin.

"Calm down man- it was nothing serious," the other guy says.

"Don't tell me to calm down when I don't even know your name," I retort.

"Jimin. Here, you definitely need this. Bottoms up," he says handing me a shot glass.

"So, are you and Y/N broken up now?" Taehyung asks.

"How did you even know about that?" I grit my teeth.

He laughs, "Everyone knows- apparently you two made quite the scene earlier."

I look down. That was supposed to be a private conversation and now everyone at this party knows about it... I'm even more heated that Taehyung knows. Whoever saw us and decided to spread that information around better be ready for when I find out who it is. I hope no one is giving Y/N a hard time...

"Anyways, I was thinking of asking her out now that you're no longer together," he says walking past me with Jimin close behind.

"Don't you dare," I say under my breath.

"Did you hear something?" Taehyung asks Jimin.

I turn around. "I said don't you dare ask Y/N!"

Taehyung smirks, "And what are you gonna do about it if I do?"

"I'm not playing around Taehyung. I'm telling you for her sake now- she deserves better than me and that means she deserves a million times better than you," I clench my fist.

"Ouch," Teahyung laughs. "See you around Soobin."

Taehyung and Jimin leave and I'm the only one left in the room.

I instinctively pull out my phone and begin dialing Y/N's number, but I stop myself before hitting the call button.

This feels so weird... the one person I want to talk to right now is the only one I can't talk to. Maybe once I get home and fall asleep I'll wake up next to Y/N and this will all have been the worst dream of my life.
