Bottoms Up

"So I'd like to say thank you to everyone for coming tonight and for all your kind words, this truly has been the best birthday ever!" Jennie exclaims, followed by cheering.

Through the masses of people I spot Taehyung whispering something to one of his group members, then both of them turning to look at me.

What the heck? I think to myself.

It's been 2 years since the last time we had a real conversation, and something tells me that's about to change tonight.

Y/N POV:

I make my way to the bathroom and stare into the mirror above the sink.

This was for the best, I tell myself.

But then why did it feel so wrong?

Before I know it my chest feels tight and tears stream down my cheeks. I have to hold on to the sides of the sink to keep myself upright.

The door opens suddenly, startling me.

"Oh my goodness Y/N!" Roseanne eyes widen and hugs me. "What happened?"

"We b-broke up," I manage to say between sniffles.

"Shh it's okay," she rubs my back. "You can stay at my place tonight."

"Really?" I say breaking the hug and wiping my tears.

"Of course. Come on," She takes my hand and leads me out of the bathroom.

We leave the venue and head for her parked car.

"Wait w-what about J-Jennie?" I ask suddenly remembering I didn't even get to talk to her yet.

"She'll understand," she assures me.

I watch the mansion become smaller and smaller and the bright flashing lights turn into darkness. We soon arrive at her house and she suggests we watch a movie together, but I just want to take a shower and head to sleep.

"The temperature is shown up top, this is the button for waterfall, this one is for rainfall, and this one for the massage jets," she explains to me.

"Got it," I say hoping she'll believe that. I've never seen a more complex shower in my life.

"I left some clean clothes for you on your bed. You remember where the guest room is right?"

"Just down the hall and to your left." At least that I know I can handle.

"Alright just call me if you need anything," she smiles softly then closes the door behind her.

I strip off my clothes and turn the shower on. With every droplet of water that lands on my skin, a memory of Soobin washes over me.

"Surprise!" he exclaimed.

"Yah! Don't you know better than to startle me when I'm asleep?" I rubbed my eyes.

"You did look super cute, but I had to wake you because.... it's your birthday! And that means I have something special to show you," he drags me out of bed and into the kitten.
