Victoria: Champion of Death

The day of the battle had was the following day. Jacob made a path from the battle site to where their campsite would be going up a small mountain with Bella and Maya. The wolf scent covered Bella and Maya's scent. Maya had purchased a better tent than what Edward had wanted to pick out. Rosalie brought it just because she knew it would make Edward mad.

"It's too big and has too much in it." Edward complained
"Unlike you, marble prick, I do get cold as does Bella. This tent is state of the art. It comes with a heat source. Everything in it is collapsible. You don't sleep but the rest of us do. Jacob is my boyfriend. He is my hot blanket. Like hell will I will share him with Bella because you want to be too unreasonable." Maya said back
"I know what Bella needs." Edward said defensively
"Then what are you complaining for? The tent fits 5 rooms. Each room is compartmentalize and collapsible with heat options. You and Bella can have a room all to yourselves." Maya said
Edward spluttered as the rest of the Cullen's snickered. Maya walked off and finished shopping for the trip. She packed everything in her backpack. Billy took Charlie on a two day fishing trip. Jacob carried Maya in his wolf form up the mountain. By the time they arrived, Jasper and Emmett set up the tent and everything inside under Rosalie guidance. Maya pulled out ingredients for a campfire BBQ. She set up a fire pit and pulled out some pre-pulled BBQ as well as corn and pre-made kabobs. Bella and Edward arrived a couple of hours later to a toasty tent and food laid out on a picnic blanket. Bella stared as did Edward. Maya was joking with Jacob and was eating a sandwich with Jacob.
"When did you-?" Bella said in disbelief
"Just because we have to go to war tomorrow doesn't mean that we need to starve nor sleep in discomfort." Maya said calmly
Bella just stared for a bit before Maya handed her a veggie burger with all the fixings.
"Eat. Your room is behind you." Maya said before getting up to clean up
Jacob helped Maya before they both went off to their own rooms for the night. Seth came in from the outside and took a room to sleep in. The next morning, Maya was up and packing up the tent. Bella was talking with Edward about their wedding. Jacob was prepping for going back to the Pack to fight. Maya was nervous out of her mind with worry over the outcome of everything. She was terrified someone would die or be in danger of dying. Seth was to stay with her and protect her. Maya hugged Jacob tightly and she saw Bella with a jealous gleam in her eye when Jacob kissed Maya.
"I'll be fine, My. Have a little faith in me." Jacob said teasingly
"Having faith and being realistic are two different things. I don't want this to be the day I lose you." Maya said into his neck
"I'll come back. I'll be home in time for that stir fry with you, Dad, and the Clearwater's." Jacob said with a grin before they heard a howl
Jacob turned serious before kissing Maya again and then running off and shifting. Seth shifted and then laid down beside Maya who cuddled into his side as the battle began. Edward began commentary on how the battle was going. Everyone was concerned that Victoria hadn't been seen yet. Suddenly time froze. Maya looked around then noticed the Mischief deity.
"So you are making a little progress with our deal, but as my Champion I figured I would warn you of a Champion of Death coming this way. Now if you kill her, you get a reward. You get to save a pair of mated newborn vampires. If you don't, everyone in this clearing dies today. Now on the plus side she was due to die long ago so you may even get a perk from Death as this Champion turned against him long ago." The deity said
"Victoria?! Victoria is a Champion?!" Maya said in utter disbelief
"Used to be. By turning away from her patron god, she began slowly going insane which led her to the Victoria you know now. She lost her mate and that basically cemented her insanity." He explained
"I accept the mission." Maya said
"Good girl. Now good luck she is close by." The deity said before disappearing and time resumed
Edward snapped around claiming he could hear Victoria's thoughts coming their way. Soon a young male vampire came out.
"Riley." Edward breathed out "You know it doesn't need to be like this. Victoria is using you. Why else would she turn you?" Edward asked trying to convince him
Suddenly Victoria appeared in a tree before jumping down near Riley.
"Don't listen to him. I told you about their mind tricks." Victoria said
"Really? She needed someone who knew Forks like you do. You were the perfect catch. This is all about her true mate, James." Edward said
Riley began looking confused and glanced at Victoria. Victoria looked slightly nervous.
"It's only you. You know that?" Victoria said before pleading with him "Don't let him do this to us." Victoria said looking at him with pleading eyes
Maya rolled her eyes as Riley thought about it before the obsession clicked in his eyes.
"You're dead." Riley said insanely
"May your soul find peace." Maya said before firing an arrow which knocked Riley's head clean off
Edward, Bella, and Victoria stared wide eyed in utter shock.
"Ex-Champion of Death, your patron awaits." Maya said coldly
Victoria stared at Maya with fear in her eyes before waving an arm and a beam of darkness shot out while Maya sent beam of fire at her. Victoria dodged it. Maya backflipped away from the darkness before charging forward and fought Victoria hand to hand. Maya was incredibly strong for a human plus her deity gave her some enhancements. Victoria grabbed Maya and threw her into a tree. Edward then jumped in and fought Victoria. Victoria nearly had him but Bella called out to her. Maya took her shot and jumped on Victoria's back. She grabbed her throat and sent fire from her hands. Maya separated Victoria's head from her body. Suddenly she felt crushing pain to her rib cage and cried out dropping Victoria's body. Seth came forward and caught her with his head before whining at her to see what was wrong. Maya rolled on to her side and caught her breathe. She suddenly felt a need to find Jacob. Now! Maya threw her hand towards Victoria's corpse and it went up in flames.
"I completed my mission. Keep your end of the deal." Maya whispered before getting on Seth's back
"We need to get to the others, Seth. Hurry!" Maya said making Seth run
They made it to the clearing where the battle took place just as Jacob was grabbed from behind by a newborn and squeezed. Maya clearly heard the breaking bones before Jacob had a chance to yelp. Maya sent a spear of condensed air at the newborn, obliterating him into dust. Maya was down beside Jacob as the other wolves changed back. Jacob was silently screaming in pain. Maya was beside herself in worry, so when Carlisle came forward to help, he was met by fireball weilding Maya.
"I'm just trying to help him." Carlisle said
"No vampire is touching my Jacob. I'll fix him. You'll probably cause him more pain than truly fix. Now all vampires stay where I can see you. If you twitch wrong, I'll drop you faster than you can beg for mercy." Maya said coldly
Everyone shifted before Maya got to work. She first used her mental abilities to turn off Jacob's pain receptors. Maya then used blood bending to force pinched veins and muscles to stay open. She also used this to force the broken bones to set properly. Maya then made Vines grow and bound Jacob's rib cage. She grew tired.
"The Volturi are coming." Edward said
"I'm done for now. Take him with you guys back to Billy's. I'll follow after this. I've set everything so he can begin to heal without messing himself up even more." Maya said as the Pack lifted Jacob and left
Maya turned to look at the Cullens and noticed two newborns. They didn't have such a crazed look as the others who died already did.
"Who are they?" Maya asked but Jane, Alec, Felix, and Demetri came through the trees
"I see we missed a battle." Jane commented smugly
"If you were but a few minutes earlier, your services would've been useful." Edward said distastefully at Jane who smirked
"Edward, if the Volturi could have stopped this they would have." Carlisle said
No one noticed that Maya had her phone in her hand with it on speaker phone.
"Pity. You seem to have missed a few." Jane said before using her powers on the female newborn making her scream
"Who are you? Why did you come here?" Jane demanded increasing the pain sickly
"Please stop they'll tell you willingly what they know." Esme pleaded as Emmett held the male newborn back
"I don't know! Riley said our thoughts weren't safe." The girl begged and sobbed
"Useless. Felix." Jane said making him walk towards the newborns
"I believe that's enough. I hope this evidence of misconduct is enough to give me what I want." Maya said as she moved between Felix and the newborns
Maya held her phone up in plain view where everyone now saw Aro, Caius, and Marcus glaring darkly at them. Jane became very afraid.
"Indeed. My apologizes on behalf of my overzealous guard. As compensation, you may allow the newborns to join the Cullen clan. Carlisle you are now responsible for them. The rest of you shall return at once." Aro said
"Of course." Carlisle said in shock with a slight bow to the phone
"Yes, master." The Volturi guard said before zooming away
Aro hung up and the Cullens stared at Maya.
"How did you know?" Alice asked baffled
"Aro would've killed everyone in Seattle for the attention they brought to your kind. If he didn't know then they didn't tell him all the details they should've. Your clan is known for its ability to not cause a scene up until recently which is now in the process of being fixed. They're not overly worried about two newborns as long as they keep their heads down." Maya said putting her phone away
"Thank you. My name is Bree and this is my mate Aiden." The newborn introduced herself and her partner
"I'm Maya, resident freak girl with powers." Maya said "Now I have to go check on Jacob. Good luck."

Maya ran off to Billy's and sat with Jacob as he slept while he healed.
