Chapter 14 - Shining Stars

"I refuse to sit in a car for 3 hours listening to your girly music." Alec pouted nexted me, since we pulled into the freeway we have been argueing about who is in control of the radio.

"Florence and the machine is hardly girly Alec." I glared at him, though he was focused on the road. He looks so cute pouting. Focus Audrianna focus.

"We both like The Killers why can't you just put that on." He groaned.

"Because Alec that type of music gets me pumped."

"And?"

"Okay fine you want to be in a car with a pumped Audrianna for 3 hours fine by me just don't say i didn't warn you." I rose my hands in the air and proceeded to put on The Killers.

"Fine play whatever you want Audrianna." He mumbled.

I reached forward and his kissed his cheek, "Thanks babe, but since you're being such a good sport ill let you choose the next hour." I gave him a cheesey smile thought he was still not looking at me.

1 Hour later

"SAY MY NAME! AND EVERY COLOR ILLUMINATES WE ARE SHININ- hey!" I snapped my head to Alec who rudely turned the radio off.

"Can we play the quiet game?" He glanced at me smirking. Oh no he didn't.

"What excatly are you trying to say?" I glared at him crossing my arms.

He reached for one of hands and placed it on his thigh where he began to softly draw circles on. "I just want to have an actual conversation with my girlfriend." Sigh, my girlfriend. Now how can i stay mad at him when he does things like this.

"Mmhmm." I glared at him playfully. "It wouldn't happen to be about my angelic voice, now would it?"

His laugh along other simple, small expressions and gestures are something I will never get use to, he made farting attractive. Not that he'd let one rip while the car but if he did it would be beautiful. Yup I just got creepy.

He shook his head lightly while laughing and i couldn't help but admire his joyful face. "No i promise, i just want to talk to you." He sighed. "You've been neglecting me for an hour now." He pouted.

"I'm sorry, you can put something on now." I grabbed his phone that was resting in the cup holders and connected it to AUX cord.

"My passowrd is 1234, click on the playlist called Chill." So original , I did as he said and Alexandre Displat quietly began to play. I instantly started to relax.

"I didn't take you for an instrumental kind of guy." I said unbuckeling my seat belt and moving in the seat between us. I love trucks. Fastening the middle seat belt around me. I placed my hand of his thigh and my head on my shoulder.

"Tell me about your mom Alec." I closed my eyes and waited for him to speak. I heard him take in a deep and slowly let it out.

"She was the nicest, most caring person you will ever meet." He began, "My mother didn't have a mean bone in her body. Growing up, i don't think i ever saw her frown or yell at anyone. Not even at me when i would draw on the walls or take out all the pots from the pantry, to use as my own personal drums." He laughed quietly, "Now my dad he was the assertive one, but my mom would just tell him to calm down and let me continue bang on the pots with the wooden spoons."

"She always told my dad 'Have you ever heard anyone yell at the stars in the night sky and tell them to stop shining?'

And my dad would say 'No never.' and she would reply

"Then how dare you yell at this one."

"That's so beautiful." I stared at him as he spoke so fondly about his mom. But i couldn't help but noticed how he would refer to her in past tense but i chose to not to comment on it. "What's her name?"

"Irene." He spoke softly almost sadly.

"What.. what happened to her?" I couldn't help it. He was speaking about her like she had pasted away, which is way i was confused since we were on our way to see her.

I stared at him and waited for him to respond. His eyebrows frown and he squeezed my hand "We're here."

I looked up at the tall grey building and shock took over me, now this I wasn't expecting.

"Windfall Mental Institute"

Okay so I lied this one isn't long at all. I took alot of it out and put it in the next chapter, it didnt feel right here. Hope you guys liked it.
