Chapter 16

"Hey there detention buddy" Zion wrapped his arm around me as we walked into detention.

I pulled his arm off of me "don't even start" I snapped at him

"I'll start whatever I want to" he whispered into my ear. I froze at his words not knowing what to do.

I sat a couple desks away from him since he was always a distraction and I needed to get some of my homework done.

"I'm going to the office and I'll be back soon. I expect you all to behave" said the old teacher leaving the room.

Zion instantly scooted his chair next to mine echoing throughout the class. "Have you had enough time yet?"

I looked at him "you have no patience do you Gray?"

"Not even the slightest" he leaned in looking at my paper "wanna go to the lake tonight?"

"Can't I'm grounded because of your dumbass" I said annoyed. "You can just sneak out like last time" He smirked

"Zion I can't"

"You can and you will" he grabbed his chair and pulled it back to his original seat just as the teacher walked in.

I smirked at him shaking my head.

"Detention is over. You are free to leave" relief washed over me, we had been sitting in detention for an hour.

I gathered my things expecting Zion to come over and annoy me but when I looked back up he was gone.

"Im here to pick you up" Nathan texted me

"Ok leaving now"

I was surprised it was Nathan that was picking me up but I wasn't going to complain. I wasn't ready to face Damien yet.

I spotted Nathan's Black truck parked by the school. "Hey princess" he turned on his truck

"Hey" I replied quietly. "Damiens pissed" I started fidgeting with my fingers

"I know I was on the phone with him earlier" I looked over at Nathan. "So why were you cheating?"

"I wasn't" I said coldly. "Then why did you get detention?" He asked confused

"Cause that assh-" I caught myself and Nathan gave me a look to not finish that word "I mean a friend was asking for answers and the teacher was saying that I was cheating"

"Who"

"Zion" I gritted my teeth saying his name. I looked over at Nathan and he was gripping the steering wheel his knuckles were turning white

"Is everything ok?" I asked

"Yes don't worry about it" I could tell he was mad but I didn't push it.

I knew I was screwed when as soon as I opened the door Damien was already standing on the other side with his arms crossed.

"My office now"

Those three words just proved my assumption correct.

I sat down in a chair behind his desk while he sat on his desk in-front of me.

"Wanna tell me what happened?" He said sternly folded his arms.

"Damien I swear it wasn't my fault. This kid was cheating off of me" I quickly said

"Then why did you get in trouble?" Damien wasn't believing me.

"Cause the teacher said I was the one giving answers" Damien raised an eyebrow "yes I gave an answer but I wasn't cheating" I laid back in the chair

"Who's the kid?" Damiens tone was low and his temper seemed like it would erupt any second

"Zion" I quietly said but I knew he heard me since he instantly left the office without saying a word.

He soon returned yelling into his phone "I don't give a shit I want your son to leave my sister alone" he spat out

I looked at him realizing that he was talking to Zions father. I stood up trying to take the phone out of his hands

"Damien don't" he pushed me and I fell onto the ground

"Just tell him to leave her alone or else our agreement is over" Damien hung up the phone anger was the only emotion showing on him

"I don't want you talking to Zion anymore" he strictly said. "You can't tell me who I can and cannot talk to" I argued back

He glared at me "I can and I will so stop acting like a spoiled brat and listen to me"

Tears were forming in my eyes but I refused to let them fall.

"You may think you are a good parent to me but you are far from it" I grabbed my bag and ran out of his office. I knew what I said hurt him but he needed to know that he hurt me too

"AURORA GET BACK HERE NOW" I heard him shout from downstairs.

I ran upstairs trying to make it to my room to escape Damien. I ran into Jason who was just turning the corner the same time as me

"Woah where you goi-" Jason was cut off my Damien  who grabbed my arm making me face him

"I did not say you could leave" Damiens voice was rough and raspy. "How about we calm down" Jason tried defusing the heated stare Damien and I were doing at one another

"Your not my parent why should I listen to you?" I replied coldly

"Don't even fucking start" he spat out I could see his chest moving faster from his quick breathing.

"Or else what?" I gave him the same cold stare back challenging him.

He roughly grabbed my arm dragging me to my room. "Damien stop your gonna hurt her" Jason spoke pulling on Damiens shoulder

"She needs to learn to respect me" he pushed pass Jason and pulled me into my room.

"Give me your phone" he held out his hand and I placed my phone into his hand. Then he left and I heard my door click

I quickly ran over and tried opening it but he had locked it, I banged on the door "I hate you Damien" I yelled out through sobs
