"Uh. Oh I guess".
At a glance, the two did look strikingly alike. They both possessed E/C eyes, pointed ears and a similar face shape.
However, there were differences (some more prominent than others). To begin with, Corintha was noticeably taller and built a little more muscular than the younger girl. Her hair was also a couple of inches longer.
"Oh, I have to tell you everything!"
Corintha frowned as the younger girl didn't seem to be listening, she sighed and spoke a little softer. "This is probably really difficult for you to accept. However, I need you to listen to everything I am going to say and remember it, ok?"
Y/N nodded soundlessly, slowly coming to terms.
"Ok! Where should I start? Oh, from the beginning!" The older altean cleared her throat, "Uh, I guess I should tell you about project F.T.S first".
"So, project F.T.S isn't a massive machine or a secret race of people or whatever. It's actually a crystal, a really dangerous and scientifically advanced crystal that could kill us all if placed in the wrong hands".
What.
Corintha laughed off the dark comment and scratched the back of her holo neck. "You know about quintessence, right?"
A shake of the head.
"Oh. Well quintessence is the highest source of energy in the known galaxies and universes. However, it's inside all species and can be withdrawn for good and evil".
Y/N frowned. "So the crystal has quintessence inside?"
A small smile curled onto Corintha's face as Y/N began to spiral in thought "But you said that quintessence is in everything, so then what's so special about a crystal?"
"You see, this crystal can obtain and preserve vast amounts of quintessence at an unrivalled speed.".
"WHAT".
Corintha chuckled softly at Y/N's extremely surprised face. "I know right. Anyway, so two altean scientists were entrusted with the 'valuable' responsibility of studying the crystal, along with their friend Hornerva and good ole Zarkon".
Confusion bloomed in Y/N's head "But, I thought Zarkon was one of the bad guys?"
"Well, he is but this is before he got quintessence poisoning along with Hornerva who died".
E/C eyes were riddled with perplexion "Quintessence poisoning?"
"Like a space drug overdose, except your eyes turn all glowy and you think you can take over the universe".
"Ah".
"Yeah, so Zarkon became obsessed with quintessence because he kinda needs it to survive and wants immeasurable power of the universe".
"Then". Corintha paused dramatically "You were born...But I'll tell you that once we get back to the castle and Allura can help me explain".
Y/N simmered down before scowling at the ground and picking at grey pieces of rock. "Allura probably doesn't want to be within a 500000-mile radius of me".
"What? I thought Allura and you would be good friends by now". Corintha's gaze softened as Y/N seemed to get rather annoyed "Yeah well we're not so can we please go back to the magical crystal thing?"
Although she was confused, the older woman dropped the subject, deciding that it wouldn't be wise to prod further. "Ok. I'm guessing you'll want to know where the crystal is, right?"
In reply, Y/N raised a brow. "Me? You trust me to handle an all-powerful crystal magic thing that could destroy the universe?"
"...Yesn't?"
