Chapter IX: A Blessing Or Another Curse?

"Lola, I thought you weren't serious about it". I uttered.

She smiled. "I was serious, Hija. Clyde won't come back to us, I need someone who can look after you except for him". She replied. What? So, Prynce's purpose is to look after me? He's not on some sort of vacation?

"Why would you hire a stranger instead of our relatives?". I asked her. I mean, pwede naman 'yon diba? Mas mabuti pa nga 'yon para sigurado na ligtas ako.

"Hija, he's not a stranger anymore. He is your babysitter whether you like it or not". She said.

I sighed heavily, mukhang wala na talaga akong magagawa dahil nandito na siya pero I wonder kung saan sila nag-kakilala ni Lola Andreanna. Sa labas? Sa palengke? Sa mall? Imposible namang sa kumpanya dahil bata pa ata ang lalaking 'to, siguro ay ka-edad lang siya ni Prynce. But who cares about his age? He doesn't care about mine either.

"Untie him, Hija". Lola added before she left the kitchen. Akala ko ba eh no strangers allowed dito? Paano kung malaman nitong lalaking 'to na isinumpa ako? What if ipag-kalat niya?!

She never let those bodyguards inside our mansion because she's afraid of that one but now, hinayaan niya lang na pumasok ang lalaking 'to sa mga buhay namin? Ganon na lang? Agad-agad? She didn't even informed me about this! And besides, why would I need a babysitter? What for? Hindi na ako baby!

I have no choice but to untie him so that's what I did, ako ang nag-tali sa kaniya kaya alam ko rin kung papaano siya pakakawalan. I hate to do this but Lola asked me to do it, may magagawa ba ako? Can I disobey her? And even if I did, pwede niya namang gawin ang inuutos niya.

"Lola? Why would I need a babysitter?".

"Hija, you're still a minor. You need someone to take good care of you and look after you".

"I mean, why exactly would I need him?".

"I have a business trip, Hija. You can't be there, and I can't be here with you. If a word comes out that you are alone in this mansion, they might take advantage and do something".

"But you said na bawal tayong mag-papasok dito".

"Our doors and gates are open for him".

"Don't be afraid, Hija. Sometimes, the heart sees what is invisible to the eye".

"How long will you be away po ba?".

"Three months is the minimum, a year is the maximum".

"What? Mawawala ka ng ganiyan ka-tagal??".

She nodded to me. "This is an important meeting, Hija. I can't skip it or ask my secretary to be there for my sake".

"I'll be back, Hija. For now, listen to me and let your babysitter guide you".

Nag-aalala ako sa kalagayan ni Lola Andreanna kahit alam ko namang okay lang siya but, if she's alright then why does it seems like mayroon siyang tinatago sa'kin? Parang ang tagal naman ata ng three months then pwede pang maging one year? What kind of business trip ba 'yon? How far? Saang bansa?
