As Nessa made her way to the ice machine down the hall, River rounded the corner. The two made eye contact causing River to quickly look away. As they were passing each other, Nessa grabbed her arm forcing her to halt.

"River, why won't you talk to me?" Nessa questioned. Silence held the air while River stood silent.

"Is it because of the kiss? It was just a kiss, River." Nessa huffed causing River to finally look at her.

"That's the thing, Ness. It wasn't just a kiss to me. It was so much more, and you can't seem to see that. To you I'm just your friend, a shoulder to cry on. Nothing more." River argued. Nessa stared back at her entirely awe struck by the words that had just left her mouth.

"Say something!" River yelled. Nessa slowly walked up to her before pulling her into kiss. For a brief moment River kissed back, ultimately pulling away.

"No. We can't- You can't just kiss me because I poured my heart out to you. You can't just kiss me and not mean anything from it." River explained, frustration evident in her words. Nessa watched as she walked down the hall, confused by the situation.
