Chapter 2: FAMILIAR

'Why does he look so familiar?', you thought. As you were lost in thought, he caught a glimpse of you staring at him. You blushed slightly. 'He's pretty cute. Wait what?! Agh! I need to concentrate.'
Flashback:
"Hey wait up!", you yelled to a blonde boy. You two were racing each other for fun. You were eight and he was nine at the time. He was running way ahead of you, so you started to give up. As a child, running wasn't your strong suit.
"You know this is a race (y/n).", the blonde chuckled.
"But I hate running!", you whined.
"Okay fine! I'll wait up, but only 'cause it's you~", he grinned. Your face blushed a deep crimson.
"Whatever!"

Those memories were the only good ones (y/n) remembered. What was this boy's name? There's no way the boy on this boat could be him. (Y/n) was the only Kurta survivor right? While (y/n) was in deep thought, she did not notice the face of this blonde right in front of her. "Whoa! Whoa! When did you get here?!", you exclaimed.
"Gomen!", he apologized, "You just seemed to be staring into space, I was wondering if you were alright."
"Oh yeah... It's fine.... I was just surprised that's all." You gave a slight smile. He looked at you for a while
and grinned, until his expression changed. You broke the silence. "Is something wrong?", you asked with concern. He blinked as if he snapped out of a trance.
"Oh i-it's nothing", he stuttered. "I'm Kurapika by the way." He stuck out his hand. You grabbed it slightly and replied, "(y-y/n)." He made the same expression as before- as if he knew you....

Kurapika ended up introducing you to Gon, a short boy with spiky, dark green hair, and also Leorio, a tall guy with a brief case who looked like he was in his 30's. "Well it's nice to meet you (y/n)-san!", Gon exclaimed.
"It's a pleasure~", Leorio winked at you as he said it. 'Typical -_-', you thought. Kurapika glared at Leorio.

In the end, the captain of the ship passed all four of you to take the hunter exam. You were a bit nervous, but determined to face what's coming.
