Chapter 2

"oh darling look how beautiful you have grown up to be." My grandmother squished my cheeks.

"thank you, grandma."

"and polite as well. Say has anyone caught your eye?"

"mum." My mother scolded her.

"darling it is just a question."

"yes but it's not a very good time to ask that when we are being hunted by a vampire king."

"you are not being hunted, she is."

"MUM." My grandma held her hands up in defense.

"mum we need your help. To protect Kristy."

"you made a deal Faith. You know as well as I that I can't protect her forever."

"mother can we not talk about this here."

"No. We will talk about it. The child has every right to know. Now Kristy come here." I walked to my grandmother and she grabbed my hands.

"ahhh." She sighed then started to mumble a different language under her breath.

"There she is now safe from being located by the king."

"thank you so much mum for doing this, you have no idea how much this means to us." My dad thanked her.

" It's not a problem at all, you stay as long as you would like."

~6 months later~

"mum I'm home." I called out. Let me catch you up. 6 months ago a vampire king was trying to hunt me down and take me away. Well, after my grandma put the spell on me I haven't seen or even heard about him. I am going to a different school in fact today was the last day and tomorrow is summer break.

"hi honey how was school?" my mum asked as she handed me some fruit.

"good I guess." I shrugged. Transitioning from a whole different part of the world was hard and it still is. I miss Katie.

"I know it's tough on you but just remember this is for your safety." She kissed my forehead.

"hey kiddo." My dad said kissing me on the cheek.

" hi, dad."

"how was school?"

"good." I replied simply.

" oh your grandmother would like to talk to you." I nodded my head and then headed to her private room. Or her magic room as I like to call it. I went to knock on the door but she told me to come in before my hand could touch the door.

" Grandma, are you psychic?" I asked her

"no, I heard you breathing. I may be a witch but I am not psychic." She motioned for me to come to her and then grabbed my hands.

"take a seat." I sat down on the chair across from her.

"your mother isn't going to be happy that I am telling you this but I sense that something bad is about to happen."

"What?"

"I can't tell you for I do not know all the details. But you know as well as I what or more importantly who is coming."

"you really think he is coming?"

"yes. Also, cherish the time you have with your family because you don't know what might happen to them." I nodded then started to get up.

"Remember none of this must be told to your parents" I nodded. I walked out of the room and to my room. I saw something shiny on my bed and walked closer to it.

It was a gold locket I flipped it over and it had been engraved.  

Remember that those who love you are close by. I smiled as I read it, I put it around my neck. And smiled as I looked down at it.

"Kristy dinner." my mum called me. I tucked the locket under my shirt and then walked into the kitchen.

~a week later~

I was sitting in the family room with my grandmother and reading a murder mystery. Suddenly my parents busted through the door.

"he's here." My dad gasped.

"What? Who?" I asked him leading him to sit down on the couch.

"Niall he knows where you are and is coming here. Quick, go to your room pack as much as you can then hurry back down. I ran up to my room passing my parent's room seeing my mum stuffing things into a bunch of suitcases. I grabbed two suitcases from my closet and started to throw my stuff into them. I finished packing the first bag in five minutes but it looked like a tornado. I moved onto the second bag and grabbed all my hair, makeup, and beauty products. Then moved on to more important stuff like pictures and my jewelry. I finished packing most of my stuff I placed my bags in the hallway and then walked back into my room.

"This has to stop." I told myself. I grabbed a pen and paper and started to write. I finished the letter right when my dad called me to hurry

 "coming." I yelled. I folded the letter and left it on my desk. I ran to the car outside and hopped in.

"where are we going this time?"

"We have a safe house about three hours from here. It's in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere. It will be safe for the time being." My dad told me

"what about school?" I asked them.

"we'll homeschool you." My mum told me.

"Faith you knew she can't hide forever?"

"I know." My mum whispered. Not forever but for a year.

Niall's POV

We pulled up to the house where my lovely mate was staying. I walked up to the house with my bodyguards and Catherine my witch.

"break the door." I commanded one of my guards. With one kick the door was in a million pieces.

"find her." I ordered and everyone went their separate ways except for Catherine. I walked around trying to find her scent but it seemed like she wasn't here. I walked down the hall until I got to a door that smelt a lot like my mate. I opened the door and looked around the room. I picked up a picture of her with her parents.

"your majesty I think you might want to see this." Catherine told me. I looked at her and saw she had a piece of paper in her hand. She handed me the letter and I read it over,

Dear King Niall,

            As you have probably figured out that I am not here and I have gone on the run again. I am writing this letter to you to make a deal. In one year I will come back with you to your kingdom and do what you ask of me. In return, you will leave me and my family alone for 1 year. During this year I will hopefully be doing my last year in high school. Because don't you want the future queen to be educated? I don't know where I will be going next but maybe it is for the best if you don't know. Even though I know you will find me in time. 1 year that is all I ask.

I smirked as I read the letter. 1 year and that will be all.
