~•{Chapter #07}•~

Start from the beginning

"Hugh hold her chest firm and Aaron get the skeever hide, ash hopper jelly and garlic potion and heat it."

Hugh gripped her chests in position. Aaron hunted within the bags for the potion and worked on it. Summoning his ionic strength he ignited some gentle embers on his fingertips.

"Eir, pull out the wood as fast and unchanged as you could. I will move her heart a bit to the left. Ok?" Galene asked.

A bit of hesitation blurred her tired mind. Yet, her palms gripped the wood and her worried face gave an assuring nod in a reflex even before she was ready.

Before they could execute it, the girl started twirling vigorously. She opened her gentle eyes that had been shifting her elegant hazels to rigorous inky ravens. Frothing saliva and blood dribbled out of her lips and nose. Her skin grew chalky while her pearly nails and hazel hairs turned murky and lifeless.

Galene placed her hands near Arva's heart only to realise that something was eroding the life out of her, consuming her soul away for its survival. She looked at Serephina and requested her to chant the decree of virtue. On hearing that, her eyes dilated in monstrosity.

"Does that mean we are fighting a spirit?" Mordana queried. The very mention of the hymn blew a rush of horror in their blood.

"This isn't just a medical emergency. Please proceed without questions. We have a life at stake here," Galene made them realise the haste.

After convening her courage from within, Serephina closed her eyes and swayed her arms in the air and started to recite the hymn,

Be it the holy living soul,
Or be it the egregious undead,
Oh! The mother of insatiable truth,
It's thee who resides within every life.
Bring us the power of your vigour,
Ordain this life with the decree of virtue,
Thy infinite truth shall sanctify her.
Oh, The ruler of every being!
Escort her innocence, keep up her life,
Truth should never cease nor succumb,
This is thy oracle, so mote it be.

With every word she uttered, her halo surrounded everyone. With every cycle of the hymn, she summoned the vigour of the divine mother, illuminating a golden aura around her.

Realising the unbearable exuberance in her, Serephina moved forward and placed her palms on Arva's heart. The moment the halo entered and infected the intruder, a howling noise deafened their ears. As the auras combatted for their power, the echoing shrieks grew up in decibels that were deadly to any life. Thankfully the cloak prevented the wave of noises from escaping to the outside world.

When everyone closed the ears and gripped their talismans to keep them sane, Serephina kept up the battle for the little girl while Galene kept her vitals stable wishing for her survival.

With every driblet of halo intruding her heart, the collision of the dread and divine let the dreaded caterwaul from excruciating pain. After the final drop of golden intruded Arva, the heinous ogre was vanquished by the serene supremacy.

The moment the commotions ceased, a thick ebonic smoke exited her heart and glared at Serephina with its burning coal eyes for a few seconds. A peaking terror consumed them yet they were getting ready to combat. It then, slowly wriggled around Serephina and looped near her face with it's back tornado trunk, trying to hallucinate her. Serephina felt her timid thumps within her head and blinked twice. She flapped her right palm near her hips, making sure not to distract the smoky spectre. Comprehending her moves, Mordana spelt within her lips,

'Prisoniche tryft ogre.'
'Prison the ogre.'

Before her electric flames could encircle its smokey tail, it evaporated into the thin air, leaving back its stares to haunt in their hearts.
