Wings

*nobody's POV*

At around 3:30 y/n made her way to the lab to meet shuri.

Shuri:"look who showed up"

Y/n:"yeah yeah what are we doing"

Shuri :" testing to see if wings can work with vibranium."

Y/n:"what so does that mean-"

Sam walks in the door.

Sam:"hey y/n"

Y/n:"oh boy" she mumbles and shuri laughs.

Shuri :" alright Sam we are testing new wings today"

Sam:"cool cool"

Y/n:" the sooner we start the sooner its over. Let's go"

Sam shuri and y/n all surround the wings on the table.

Sam:"my wings are fine, what are yall doing to them"

Shuri :"upgrading"

Sam:"which means...."

Shuri :" we are replacing the metal with vibranium to increase speed and velocity to achieve optimal flight results"

Sam:"huh? I don't speak smart people language"

Y/n:"lighter metal make wings go faster"

They all start laughing.

Sam:"that makes more sense."

Shuri:"just put them on"

Sam gets ready and stands in the take off area.

Sam:"I won't get hurt will I?"

Y/n:"Wilson afraid of a few scratches?"

Sam:"no I just - whatever"

The girls giggle with each other. Shuri noticed how y/n was becoming more relaxed around Sam. More normal.

Sam takes off and it works perfectly. Y/n walks underneath him to take pictures for the report.

Sam:"wait lemme just" Sam strikes a pose with his lips puckered.

Y/n can't help but laugh which earns a smile from Sam.

Y/n:" can't you take anything seriously?" she laughs.

Sam lands on the ground again.

Sam:"you know I take nothing serious"

Everyone laughs again.

Shuri:"I'm gonna show this report to tchalla. See ya later guys"

And awkward silence filled the room.

Sam:" y/n you were right"

Y/n:"about what? I mean you're not wrong I'm always right but I want you to specify" she teased.

Sam:" you know what I mean stark. We should have listened. We were idiots. Can you please forgive me?"

Y/n:" it's really hard to stay mad at you when you pull shit like this that makes me wanna laugh. I have never seen you so serious."

Sam:"I know haha, but I'm serious when I say It was hard staying away from you guys back home"

Y/n :"it's okay Sam, I understand"

The two share a short hug and make their way to the lounge area where they meet Wanda and Steve.

Sam:" so are we on for a run tomorrow morning then?"

Y/n:"definitely but I just hope you can keep up"

Sam:"I can see you're still as cocky as ever"

Y/n:" Well of coarse Wilson. See ya later"

Sam :"see ya "

Y/n leaves the room.

Wanda :"okay what the fuck"

Steve:"language"

Wanda :"oh shut it. How is she so okay with you"

Sam:" cause of my charm obviously" he says while leaving the room.

Steve and wanda look at each other with wide eyes.

Steve:"how did?"

Wanda:"I'm damned if I know"

*y/ns POV*

Today was a good day but its not over yet. Making up with bucky and Sam made it feel like we never fought in the first place. I already feel more at home knowing we are okay. Its harder with Steve and wanda. Steve was like a brother to me. And what he did to Nat was wrong. Also wanda hurt me deeply. My first love abandoned me. Talking to them will take time.

I am just gonna chill in my room before dinner. Maybe I'll watch some sitcoms. Dinner will be less awkward now that I'm not at war with everyone. I think I'm gonna be okay here.
