S4P2 Chapter 42: Traitors

Y/N and the other Scouts (Marleyan Warriors too except Pieck) were equipping their maneuvering gear while Magath and Hange were looking at the port.

"Listen up." Y/N called them

"Once we get down there, it's gonna be a bloodbath. We're gonna need to use Titan powers and maneuvering gears." Y/N said

"Wait a minute." Connie said

"What?" Y/N asked

"If we attack indiscriminately, we might hurt the Azumabitos as well." Mikasa said

"That's right!" Connie said

"You know..." Annie looked at Y/N and Mikasa

"Those distant relatives of you two attacked our homeland. They're practically our enemies." Annie said

"No. It'll be problematic for us if the Azumabitos die, Annie." Lilith said

"That's right. As for operating the flying boat, I can probably fly it somehow. However, if we don't have an Azumabito mechanic with us, we won't be able to make it airborne. It'll be like a boat with no wings." Onyankopon said

"Right now, it's wings are folded away to make it easier to tow across water. And in order to allow it to fly, it's not enough to just re-extend them. The original plan was to get it inside the hangar where it would be inspected and then have a test run. Only then would it be arranged to be operational." Onyankopon added

"How long would that take?" Reiner asked

"I don't know. It depends in the Azumabito." Onyankopon said

"So that means, we have to buy ourselves enough time to prepare the airship while protecting the Azumabito at the same time. In addition, you lot don't want us to cause casualties amongst the Jaegerists, despite the fact they might get in our way. Isn't that right?" Annie asked

The Scouts were quiet and looking at Annie.

"We don't want to kill them. Some of them are our friends from the Training Corps days." Jean said

"So? What should we do?" Annie asked and Jean looked away

"Please tell me. How are we going to protect the Azumabitos, earn enough time to prepare the flying boat, and all while, not kill any enemies that will certainly charge at us?" Annie asked

"Tell me, Armin. Like that time that you went after me. We need that kind of plan." Annie said

"No. We don't need that kind of plan. We'll kill them all rather than lose the Azumabitos and the flying boat." Y/N said

"This might be the first time I've agreed with someone from this Island." Pieck said

"Wait. Aren't we all here to save people?! So you're saying that in order to do that, we should first kill the people on the Island?! Why does it have to be like that?!" Connie asked

"Then why'd you say we're going to say the world?" Y/N asked

"That's..." Connie couldn't answer

"You're right. You lot don't even have to help us in the first place. So, to force you to make such a decision, it's not right. If it were you guys that day, you wouldn't have chosen to destroy the Wall. You're different from us." Annie said

"You five, don't have to fight. You can watch from a safe distance with Gabi and Falco. If the Jaegerists find you, you'll be forced into the decision you don't want to make, but don't intervene." Reiner said

"So you're asking us to step aside and watch you kill each other." Connie said

"I don't want to be a spectator in this. I've killed four Jaegerists before anyways. The important thing is that humanity has no time left." Hange said
