LANE
It's over now. All you can do is move forward. And right now the next step to moving forward is getting the body out to the dumpsite.
NELO
Okay...um...okay...the dumpsite. Right. Um...how?
LANE
How what?
NELO
How do we get him-it out to the dumpsite?
LANE
We'll use my truck? Remember? God, Nelo, we talked about this. First we cut him up...
NELO
Holy hell, man! We can't do this.
LANE
We'll, like it or not, we're gonna have to. Because if we don't, it's an all you can eat buffet of cake.
NELO
What are you talking about man...?
LANE
Our only desserts, dude. Now help me get the body.
NELO
No, dude, wait...hold on. I don't...god, what are we even gonna use?
LANE
Did you not buy the saw?
NELO
No I didn't buy the stupid saw, you idiot. Do you want them to track us buying a saw hours before this man just so happens to be murdered and hacked to pieces?
LANE
For once you actually have a point. We'll use the old fire axe.
NELO
(High-Pitched voice, panicked) We're using the fire axe.
LANE
Sit tight.
(LANE exits.)
NELO
The fire axe. Great.
(NELO steps towards bed, retrieving pistol.)
NELO (Cont...)
I...hate...you.
(NELO throws pistol down. Steps towards mirror.)
NELO
What are you doing with your life? You're here, you're 21, living in your parents basement - hiding in your parents basement because you just murdered a man - a kid. Someone your own age. You used to go to school with him. Riverview High. Everyday you'd ride the same bus. Everyday you all went to the same buildings. Everyday you'd see him in biology. God, he was always so much better than you. So much richer. Why could he always buy everything he wanted? Why could he always have everything he needed? Why didn't he ever have to go without? Why did it take him so long to get what he deserved?
(Beat.)
NELO (Cont...)
(Fake laugh) Is what I would say...If I were jealous of him. If Grae didn't treat me with such kindness every day. Such compassion. Such understanding - such a false sense of understanding. If only things were different, Grae. If only you really understood. If only you really knew what was going on inside my head. You really did like to pretend, didn't you?
(LANE enters, pulling the body of GREA FALLON.)
LANE
A hand, Nelo?
(Beat.)
NELO
Right...sorry.
(NELO, and LANE move GRAE to the center.)
LANE
The fire axe, Nelo?
NELO
What about it?
LANE
Where is it?
NELO
Right. I got it.
LANE
Don't work too hard to save us or anything.
NELO
I said I've got it!
(NELO disappears through the Upstage Center door, reappearing with the axe)
LANE
Baby, that's what I'm talking about.
NELO
It's alright.
LANE
Who's doing the honors.
NELO
Up to you.
LANE
Your kill, your responsibility.
NELO
As I thought.
LANE
Well, don't just act like he's going to hack himself into pieces - get to it.
NELO
I'm getting there.
LANE
One swing, and it'll get easier, I promise.
NELO
You act like it's something you've done before. Like it's not a big deal.
LANE
It's only as big of a deal as you make it.
NELO
I...
LANE
But, of course, it's not my fault. That would be on you, now wouldn't it? You were the one who gave the final word, weren't you? The final say over who lives and who dies? Maybe it's different on the delivering end. I didn't do anything.
NELO
You...
LANE
Of course I don't know, though. I'm not the one behind the trigger.
NELO
I'm going!
(Blackout. In the dark, we hear a sickening snap.)
