Water.
That's all you could feel. All you could see. Nothing but water.
Your body felt heavy, and your lungs screamed for air. You kicked your feet out in an attempt to swim but ended up kicking something hard. You flung your hands out in front of you and panic began to rise as you realised something. You were trapped.
You smacked your hands against the glass in a panic, inhaling a mouthful of water as you opened your mouth to yell. Though your vision was blurry, you saw a figure walking towards you. They said something but you couldn't quite hear it. You began to pound your fists into the glass, desperate to break free. You watched in awe as the glass cracked slightly under your strength, and the person before you began to yell behind them. More people appeared as you tried desperately to break free.
Your lungs began to ache and your chest felt like it was going to cave in. You felt light-headed and your body screamed for air. You reared your fist back to punch at the glass again-
You woke up coughing and spluttering, wiping water from your eyes as you looked around in shock. "Rise n' shine Greenie," Gally smirked, an empty bucket in his hands, "Time to get to work."
You looked up at him and a glare quickly formed on your face. Of course, he had to go ahead and do something like that. "My names not Greenie," you growled, pulling yourself from your hammock.
"To be honest, I don't really care," Gally replied, "Now hurry up and get changed, you've got a long day of building ahead of you." You watched with a sour look as the boy left. Now your clothes were wet. And on more frustrating matters, you never got to see how your dream ended. If it was just a dream that is. You felt more like it was supposed to be another memory.
With a sigh, you pulled a change of clothes from under your hammock and went to go get changed.
"Your late."
"Well, I wouldn't have been late if someone hadn't tipped a bucket of water on me," you snapped back. As promised, Alby had informed Gally of your job change, and Gally was enjoying himself way too much.
"Well, I'm just preparing you for our next build. We're making a shower block, everyone's starting to stink round here."
"I'm pretty sure that's just you."
"Shut up Greenie."
"Don't call me Greenie."
"Oi you two! We've got work to do here," Henry called, crossing his arms with a scowl. You rolled your eyes and Gally gestured for you to follow. He took you over to a small table where a large piece of paper lay. The plans for the new shower block drawn on. "As you can see," Gally began to explain, "Having the frame like this allows for a stronger structure-"
"Like shuck that's strong," you interrupted. You stole a marker from beside the paper and began to scribble on the plans. "It would be much stronger if you did it like this." You stepped back from the plans and crossed your arms. Gally looked at you with a brow raised before leaning over to see what you had done. Slowly his eyes widened and he snatched the plans from the table.
"This might actually work," Gally gaped before he dropped the paper and crossed his arms. A frown returning to his face. "Ok, so your good with plans. How about your hands?" he threw you a hammer and you quickly swiped it from mid-air.
