Inamorata

Chapter 1

"Lorena Zavala." Rafael whispered softly. He stared at his baby girl with the biggest smile I have ever seen. It made me want to 'aw'.

"She's so beautiful." Mother cooed rubbing her granddaughters cheek with her index finger.

I grimace. Personally, I think newborn babies look so scary and ugly. They're so red....and raw.....and disgusting.....

"Your baby is doing well. We will check up on you in a couple of minutes. The baby will be hungry soon so call me if you need help." The nurse informed us.

"Congratulations." The doctor smiled and they both left.

"Hello? The one who pushed her out of her vagina and suffered for hours wants to hold her." Esme called out loudly, waving her hands in the air.

Rafael chuckled and hesitated to give Esme their daughter. Carefully, he passed Lorena down to her. Esme took one look at her and tears formed in her eyes.

"She is beautiful." She murmured kissing Lorena's cheek softly. "Lorena."

It was quiet. Esme and Rafael murmured to their daughter while my mother stared at them with tears in her eyes. I stood awkwardly. I think they forgot about me. As if on cue, Esme noticed me standing quietly.

"Andrea, come say hi to your niece." She grinned keeping her eyes on Lorena.

"I'd rather not." I said under my breath.

She rolled her eyes. "She's not going to eat you."

She knew about my phobia with babies. I'm not good with them.

My mother pushed me so I was closer to Esme. I glared at my mother and she gave me a warning look. I took a deep breath and dragged my feet across the floor until I was next to Esme and Lorena. Rafael was on the other side of them, staring at his baby girl with adoration in his eyes.

I took a peek at Lorena and wrinkled my nose. "She's so-"

"If you say the u-word I will slap you so hard." Esme hissed.

"I was going to say she's so-"

"Don't. Just hold her." She motioned me to come closer.

"No." I said with no hesitation. I will not hold the creature especially if she's a newborn.

She pursed her lips and gave me he dirtiest glare. "I pushed this baby out of my fu- downstairs area. I suffered hours of pain. Do you know how small the vagina hole is? So fu- freaking small and I pushed this baby out of my small hole. So, you better hold her or else I will strangle you with my own hands."

"Be nice, cariño. Ask her nicely." Rafael turned to me and smile softly. "Please hold your niece. She really want to meet her tia."

Those simple words was all it took. He is seriously the nicest guy ever and I can never say no to him. My brother-in-law is such a sweetheart. It's such a mystery how my sister and him got together. She's such a...the's many things she is.

I sighed. I have to do this sooner or later.

I held my arms out and gave Esme a bored look. She beamed in happiness when I finally gave in. She moved closer to me and carefully hand Lorena over to me. I wrapped my arms around her tiny body and gently held her head with my hand when I noticed her head was falling back.

"You are so horrible. Here let me help you." Esme moved my hand away from her head and laid her head on my elbow. She moved my forearm to support the rest of her. She placed my palm right on her bottom. Now I don't feel so awkward. Lorena is so light and tiny.
