360 Perspective

The city is a conglomerate

Of clashing wills and common interests

That intersect to pave out

A road spilling in all direction

Like the spokes of a wheel

The rays of a sun

Running anything but parallel to each other

They repel to attract diversity

Refracted in the aqueous humour of our eyes

In love

At odds

Tiptoeing the edge of a stranger's vision

Climbing up the height of the sky in staggered steps

To somewhere, up there

Where the sky above holds infinite space

For each pair of eyes to look up and see something different

In the unanimous blue.

The line about refraction in the aqueous humour is more poetic than scientific. I mean technically the aqueous humour is water, and water refracts light....but refraction as described in the poem has nothing to do with how our eyes function to give us vision. Just wanted to make that clear. I like how the line sounds though.

I like how the line sounds though
