The Unexpected Journey

• Hidden In The Mountains •

It's been afew days since we left The Leaf Village together, as we continue down the paths outside Sakura can't help but admire everything like it's the first time she's seeing it. The trees swaying to the soft wind rustling the leaves, the crisp fresh air, Sasukes kind and handsome face. This is the first time she's felt this joyful in awhile.
- "Sasuke, where are we going?" she asks curiously
- "There is a village up ahead that has something I want to show you"
She wonders to herself what could Sasuke want to show her and why he decided to bring her along with him this time. She pauses for a second
- "Is something wrong, Sakura?"
- "No... I..." she stammered off "I was just wondering what made you decide to bring me with you"
- "I made you a promise remember."
She thinks back to the last time Sasuke was leaving the village "maybe next time" echoed in her mind as she remembered him gently tapping her forehead with two fingers. She looks down lightly blushing with a sheepish smile.
- "But... did you want me to come along? I wouldn't have wanted to burden you with my presence."
Sasuke stops dead in his tracks. He gently brings his hand up to her face to pull her gaze to his. She can feel his breath against her neck and the warm touch of his hand on her cheek.
- "Sakura, I don't want you to ever feel like a burden. If anything else, I've caused you more pain than you've ever given rise to me."
He lowers his hand from her blushing hot cheek. She looks up at him while he gives her a reassuring look "we're almost there" he says as they continue walking over a steep hill. The village Sasuke was talking about comes into view.
At the base of the valley on both sides there were two big gently sloping mountains on either side. They were crumpled at the bottoms but you could see paths leading around them all the way to the top. One of the mountains had a fascinatingly beautiful waterfall falling gracefully down the side of it. You could see the water lightly foam at the bottom of the waterfall meeting with a beautiful clear lake. The village was small but so enchanting.
- "Wow.. it's beautiful" Sakura continues taking in the stunning view. But Sasukes gaze never leaves from Sakuras face.
As he watches her he begins to notice things he never paid close attention to before. The way her soft pouty lips curl up in a smile, the way her delicate pink hair falls right on her shoulders. The way her compassionate emerald eyes are filled with love. His palms become sweaty, he can feel his heart rate begin to slightly increase. Deep in his stomach he feels this uneasy fluttering. What is this feeling? I've never felt this for someone before. He thinks to himself for a moment before his thoughts are interrupted.
- "Sasuke... you coming?" Sakura says excitedly
- "y-yes..." Sasuke stutters as he regains his cool composure.
He lightly grabs Sakuras hand
- "Come on..."
She gasps quietly to his touch as they walk into the village together.
