Chapter 3

STUDENTS ARE FLOCKING ahead and behind of us, their bickers and laughs echoed clearly down the road. If only we are this energetic at the start of the school in the morning imagine how chaotic would it be.

"I cannot believe they let us off early today," Byul's eyes beamed in joy as she match my pace down the hallway.

"Are you guys free after this? We should go and have some Bing-su" Hana's voice grow bubbly the second she cling her small arms around Byul's, those crescent light brown eyes of her create dynamic combination with her pearly rows.

"Err...I don't think I can join you guys tonight,"Guilt coats my voice without intending to. Rejecting someone who is not as close to you is harder than to refuse those who are close to you. Maybe because the close ones understand you better, maybe.

Byul scrunch  her nose perplexedly, her little sweat on her small forehead become visible with the passing seconds.

It does weird me out at first because who would sweat in cold or chilly weather but as we get to know each other, it doesn't seems to bother me anymore.

"Is today your shift? I thought you've done your shift yesterday"

Warm air escapes my lips, pressing it into a thin line afterwards. "Yeah I did, but for some reason they are short in worker today so might as well just go for it."

"You're working part time job?" Hana interrupt in between our conversation. Her partially open plump lips shows her genuine curiosity.

"Yea, it's a cafe nearby. come and enjoy some of the pastry if you guys have some time." I suggested.

The cafe I'm working at serves premium coffee and pastry but considering how prestigious this school is, I don't think those price will even touch their wallet.

That's also too, one of the reason why they built a franchise nearby our school. Most of the students either do their work there or just simply to loiter.

Good for them, privileged kids.

"Hm, I think I'll passed on today's hangout because my dad just texted me I need to go to my piano lesson today." Byul lift her half-closed eyes from her phone's screen in disinterest manner as she rub her nose. "I'm so sorry guys, maybe next time?"

"Sure, I need to work anyway."

There is a slight disappointment plastered on Hana's face when her lips are halfheartedly craved into a smile. Byul who notices the sudden change of expression immediately place her arms around her cousin's shoulder.

"Next time. Promise we'll take you out with us even if your friend had come back from the national competition."

The cafe I am working at is located not too far away from my school. Usually with public transport it would only take about 8-10 minutes. With cars, obviously in less than 5 minutes.

My steps are light as I walk down to the bus-stop, holding onto the strap of my bag as I hummed few of the songs that seems to stuck in my mind for a while now.

It is not long until the bus arrived. I hop in and set myself comfortably at the very end of the bus, my usual spot. My droopy eyes fixed on the windows, admiring the beautiful cherry blossom that blooms gracefully throughout the road.

Spring, so chilly yet very warm at certain times. Trees are blossoming, streets are coloured with parfait pink and the wind is extremely soothing, too soothing that it doesn't bother me at all, although sometimes I have a winter fever.
