//Book 3// ~ The Bottle Episode / Alaska

Börja om från början

"Whyyy." Willow groans, sitting up from the bed and looking at the clock. "It's 5 a.m." She groans

"That was part of the deal." Marvin says, putting his foot on the chair and tying his laces. "I told you I would help you work through what is going on in your head." He reminds her. "And I intend to keep that promise. Now, be dressed and ready in 10 minutes." He says, looking at his watch. "And dress warm. It's very cold in Alaska this time of year."

"It always cold in Alaska." Willow shoots back

"10 minutes." Marvin tells Willow again before leaving the room and closing the door

...and 10 minutes later, Willow is up and ready and leaving the room to meet up with Marvin...

"A minute later and I would have added an extra mile onto our run." Marvin tells Willow. "Come on, let's go." He tells her and the two start running

The two run silently for a while. Marvin and Willow run side by side, their movements in sync as if this was something they used to do all the time. Which it was. It was silent for about 25 minutes of the run

And then, Willow breaks the silence. "Why are we doing this?" She asks

"We're training." Marvin says

"Training for what?" Willow asks, still running. "This is pointless. You've brought me to the coldest place, the most deserted place, and what...we're just training here?" She asks, gesturing around as they run

Marvin stops running and Willow stops as well, both breathing heavily and their frosty breaths can be seen. "We're here to sort out what's going on in your head." Marvin says. "And we can't do that unless you're willing to talk. Now, in my experience with you, the best way to get you talking is to get you training."

"I was never allowed to talk when I trained." Willow reminds Marvin

"A rule that you never followed very well." Marvin reminds Willow. "The question we need to solve right now is...do you want to go back to National City?"

"I don't know..." Willow whispers, looking down at the ground and kicking a piece of ice in between her feet. "It seems like any time I'm around Kara...I just cause problems."

"We're not even talking about Kara right now." Marvin says. "We're talking about National City. About California. Do you want to go back?"

"I don't want to go where I'm not welcomed." Willow says

"Who says you aren't welcomed in National City?" Marvin asks

"J'onn doesn't particularly like me right now – I actually think he hates my guts – and I did actually kill Kara last time I was there." Willow points out

"J'onn doesn't matter right now." Marvin says. "He was pissed and in fear of losing someone he sees as a daughter. What matters right now is you. You and Kara. Do you want to be with her?"

Willow is silent for a moment. Her cheeks are rosy red and her eyes are stinging with freezing tears. She lifts her hand to wipe away the frozen tear, the fabric of her glove feeling soft on her face. She is silent as she thinks. As everything swirls in her mind. As every possibility and every probability runs through her head. Every scenario. Every situation. It all rushes through her mind. Willow is silent as her eyes lift to Marvin's

"Let's keep running." Marvin tells her softly and the two begin running again

***

"I don't want to talk about this anymore." Willow says, bursting through the door of the small hut they were staying in and slamming it closed

"You don't have much of a choice." Marvin says, bursting through the door after her and watching as Willow throws her jacket off of her body. "Put that back on. It's freezing." He tells her

"I'm burning up right now." Willow tells him, her eyes flashing a vibrant green. "And you saying I don't have a choice sounds awfully Base Ops of you." She growls at him

"Do not." Marvin growls back. "Ever say something like that again. Base Ops is gone. You are safe. We are safe."

"And yet, I'm not safe to be around!" Willow exclaims, tears pricking her eyes as she covers her face, sitting on the small bed

"Oh, Willow..." Marvin whispers, sitting down next to her and putting a hand on her shoulder. "You are safe to be around just not–"

"Just not for Kara. I know." Willow says, pulling her hands away from her face and looking at Marvin. "Trust me, I'm well aware."

"We can figure out a way–" Marvin tries

"How?!" Willow exclaims, standing up. "How the hell are we going to figure out a way? Kara is Kryptonian which means kryptonite is lethal to her. I am literally kryptonite." She says, gesturing to herself. "My heart beats green blood. My DNA is poisonous to Kara. I am dangerous." She says, flopping back down on the bed

It's silent. It's silent for a long time. The only thing that could be heard was Willow's soft crying

"Willow Greene...I will do whatever it takes to see you happy." Marvin promises Willow. "And that's a promise. But this needs to go two ways. You need to work with me, to figure out what we can do and how we can get you and Kara to be together...but I cannot do it alone. Do you understand?" Upon Willow's nod, Marvin pulls her into a hug
