//Book 2// ~ Willow Week - Infiltration and Rescue

Start from the beginning

"What are you talking about?" Alex questions

Brainy looks around. And no matter how advanced of an intellect he was, he was unable to think of the words at the moment. But looking around once more in the dark hallway and seeing not a single other person around, something in his brain clicks. "This seems wrong." He says

"You said that already." Alex says. "What does that mean?"

"I've heard the way Willow talked about this place." Brainy whispers to Alex. Alex looks at him and stops her work momentarily. "I've heard her talk about this place, their ruthlessness, their desire to capture her. Now we're here and it's...silent? Calm? Nothingness? There's no one here to stop us, no one trying to capture us. Think about it, our entrance was easy. Something isn't right..." He trails off in a whispers

"What are you saying?" Alex's voice wavers on her words as she asks her question, dreading the answer

"I'm saying..." Brainy whispers. "...I don't think we arrived unnoticed." He tells her. And with that, a large boom echoes through the area, shaking the floor, and the two fall to the side where Base Ops agents are aiming guns at them

And while the other DEO agents including Brainy and Alex were still underground, they were at a higher altitude than J'onn and Willow

"How much further are we going to go down?" J'onn asks in a whisper

"How much more are you going to complain?" Willow questions

"Not complaining." J'onn tells her. "I'm asking a question."

"The dungeon is the lowest level." Willow whispers. "Get back." She tells him and the two press their backs to the wall as they near a corner. Willow peeks around the corner and sees no one in the area, the hallway was incredibly dark. And then, a light flickers on behind her. She whips around to see J'onn holding the light. "Get rid of that flashlight!" Willow whispers. "We're in the belly of the beast, you can't use that here."

"How are we going to see?" J'onn questions, nodding down the hallway. "If that's the dungeon, it's darker than I thought possible."

"I have a way." Willow tells him. "You have to trust me and turn the light off."

"Trust you?" J'onn scoffs. "You and I both know our relationship status." He reminds her

"I do." Willow says. "But I also know that if you truly did not want any part of this...you wouldn't be here right now." She tells him and holds his gaze. "You wouldn't be here with me right now if some part of you didn't trust me. And whether that trust is soley because you want me gone after the end of this, I'll never know. But please, turn the light off and I will show you how we will see."

J'onn holds Willow's gaze for a moment, reading her piercing green eyes before he nods and turns the flashlight off. And with the flashlight off and the pitch black surrounding the two once more, J'onn looks around but his eyes can't land on anything. Then, two vibrant green circular lights pierce through the darkness and J'onn looks to see Willow's eyes

"You better not have taken those devices off." J'onn whispers through his teeth. "They're going to track your signature."

"Not here they won't." Willow whispers back to him, the green circular lights facing the other way as she looks down the hallway. "We're too deep." She simply explains. "Come on, we've made it to the dungeon." She says

***

Willow and J'onn bust through a celldoor after the coast was clear. As the large metal door swings open, the small amount of light from inside the cell causes Willow's green eyes to sputter back to normal. And Willow locks eyes with a figure in the room

"Marvin!" Willow exclaims, seeing her commander with cuffs around his wrists and dirt all over his face and clothes

"What the hell are you doing here?" Marvin questions from the ground

"Saving your ass!" Willow exclaims in a whisper, rushing over to him and grabbing at his restraints to free him

"Are you stupid?" Marvin questions

"Are you ungrateful?" Willow questions as she works faster

J'onn is looking into the hallway, making sure no one was coming down and would expose the group. He looks back to the room, his eyes locking on Marvin and he understands the look on the commader's face. "She has backup." J'onn promises

"She has you." Marvin says. "You hate her. If you're her backup then we're doomed." He says honestly as Willow's hands falter slightly while freeing Marvin. Then, she continues and works faster. "Why did you bring her here?" Marvin demands through his teeth

"Believe me, I didn't bring her anywhere." J'onn says. "She brought us."

"Us?" Marvin questions

"The DEO is here." Willow says, freeing Marvin from the restraints and the two stand from the ground. "To save you and take down Base Ops."

"Take down?" Marvin questions, shocked

"We've got the plan all figured out." Willow promises him. "This was the only way I could get backup to save you and I needed to save you. We snuck in." Willow tells him. "They have no idea we're here."

"Willow Greene, you are sorely mistaken if you think they don't know you're here." Marvin tells her. "Base Ops knows everything and they know you. They know you're here."

A large boom echoes through the area and the three stumble slightly, looking around. "What the hell was that?" Willow asks, looking around

The comms crackle to life and through the comms comes a voice, "We've been discovered." Alex's voice says in a whispers
