Chris groaned as she woke up, she rolled onto her side before she slowly stumbled upto her feet. Pepper was in the suit and just waking up the woman from earlier.

"Keep going" Chris said to Pepper as she grabbed her gun from her back, only to see it broken. She threw it aside as she kept following behind Pepper and the woman.

"Grab the suit!" Pepper told Chris. She rolled her eyes slightly as she did before Pepper blasted then outside. Chris coughed harshly as she landed on her back

"Ah shit" she said on an exhale

"Tony!" Pepper shouted before the suit started to go inside the destroyed home

"Should've left earlier" Chris said as she rolled to her side had pushed herself up slightly.

"Are you okay?" Pepper asked as she half paid attention to Christina

"I'm still breathing so... there's that" Chris said as she felt the blood trickling down her face still
"Pepper, come on move back... the bullets could reflect and get you" Christina said as she stood up slowly before she helped the other woman up.

They saw the building slowly fall down into the ocean
"Oh god" Christina whispered as her termored hand ran through her hair as she didn't know how to react.

The front was full of all sorts of first responders, it didn't take long for Barton to show up
"Are you okay?" He asked Chris, coming upto the ambulance back where she was sat. She just shrugged slightly as she was handed this small box of pills, which were suppose to be  painkillers
"Christina, you gotta talk to me" Clint sighed

"I don't know" Chris said as she looked up at Clint

"They will find him... but we got to bring you back" Clint said

"Am I getting the blame for this as well?"

"What? No, Fury wants you safe and away Chris" Clint sighed.

"Wh-what about Pepper? I can't just leave her here... Clint, she is alone"

"I know, I hate it but I only have orders to bring you with me"

"Then we take her and compromise"

"That won't work, Chrissy, let's just get you out of here" Clint said, getting frustrated with her. She nodded slowly as she took the bottle of pills and she followed Clint. Chris stopped and hugged Pepper tightly before she pulled away, throwing the pills into a Bush discreetly

"I am so sorry" Chris said

"It is okay" Pepper reassured her before she slowly walked towards the car which Clint drove in. Chris curled up in the back as she let out a few tears before she fell asleep.

Hours later, Clint opened up the car door and carefully shook Christina awake. She covered her eyes slightly before she adjusted to the light and recognised her surroundings.
"You really brought me to Steve's place?" Chris groaned

"Fury is inside with him... have fun" Clint smiled

"I hate you" Chris giggled slightly

"I know" Clint laughed as he got into the car and drove off as Chris walked upto Steve's apartment. She knocked on the door before Steve answered it
"Hey stranger" Chris smiled slightly

"You made it" Furys voice said from inside as Steve closed the door after Chris came into the apartment

"I didn't exactly want to, I swear to hell if this is another way to make me play secret santa again this year my answer stands as no" Christina said as she leaned against the wall

"Why on earth would I bring you to New York for secret santa?" Fury asked

" 'Cause Tasha wants me to do it and she cheats every year!" Christina answered

"What is secret santa?" Steve asked

"I'll explain it later... but seriously, just send me home, the tower or to a hotel"

"You're in no state to be left alone for a night Christina" Fury stated

"Fine" She grumbled, knowing there was no way out of it.

"You can stay here for tonight then you're going out for a small overwatch mission" Fury told her

"That is a relief" Chris smiled getting a questionable look from Steve
"Come on, spangled spandex, I just hate staying with people. It isn't personal" Chrstina said

"See, now you sound like your brother"

"I don't know if I should be offended or take it as a compliment" Christina shrugged.

"Just... stay the damn night and behave" Fury said to her
"If she get too much trouble, taze her or something" He joked to Steve before he left

"That was purely rude" Christina said

"So what is secret santa?" Steve asked

"It is like a game... you are in a group of friends and you put your name into a bucket or something. You can take out one person, just not yourself and without asking them or giving any hints you basically have to buy them a gift as their Santa Claus" Christina explained as she sat down with him

"So how does Romanoff cheat?"

"She is a spy, she basically reads everyone to figure out who has who then exposes it to everyone or she does this thing where she rigs the game so she makes certain people choose others" Chris laughed

"I can see that not being so fun now" Steve laughed

"It was the highlights of being away for christmas though... this was about to be one of my first ones home in about 7 years... then my brother gets presumed dead" Christina stated as she looked through her phone at the articles
"I assume it is worse for you... it's been like 70 odd years since you got a christmas..." Christina nodded slightly

"Yeah, it's been a while" Steve nodded as he sat with her

"You know what I really want to do?"

"What?"

"Good old club down the road, great karaoke night" Christina smirked

"Fury doesn't want you in the public" Steve reminded her

"I really don't care. I am upset and need more of a distraction than just jokes. I'll buy the alcohol, just whatever happens stays between us" Chris laughed

"Fine" Steve sighed as he gave in
