A few hours later

Christina finally opened up the front doors to her brothers mansion. Roxy ran in and she went straight upto the playroom while Chris walked downstairs to see Tony sat there, angry looking.

"What happened?" Chris asked

"Did you not see the world spread broadcast?" Tony asked as he played it

"Oh shit" Chris said as she saw it

"Is SHIELD engaging?" Tony asked her

"I don't know" Chris said as she took Tony's phone and called Maria

"Protocol type?"

"Agent Carbonell on the broadcast, I need a line to Agent Hill" Chris answered as the call went through
"Hey, that broadcast... does anyone in SHIELD have any known orders on the approach?" Chris asked

"We aren't engaging, Fury was summoned to the security council just after you spoke to him" Maria answered

"Can I engage off record?"

"No, Fury wants you in as minimum fighting after those 4 months" Maria told her

"Sorry, I didn't get that last part... the signal is shit. I'll call you back later" Chris said as she hung up

"So?"

"I'm not suppose to engage, hence the very and deliberately mean ending" Chris explained to Tony as she handed him his phone back before she walked over to the computer and started to type away
"Most of it is classified information, sorry brother" Chris said as she looked through the SHIELD file

"You really just played that classified crap?" Tony asked

"I can't help it, my job is important to me" Chris said as she closed the file
"Just... I will step in when I can" Chris told him

"You don't have to Chrissy... come on, you could die facing a terrorist"

"He isn't exactly powered so I can take him down" Chris argued

"Wait... how many people have you taken down? Also taken down... is that like kill or just beaten up?" Tony asked her

"You're not getting any answer from me. Oh also, I am going to New York for January. I promised Steve that I would help him with some things and then I also want to just enjoy a good while with no fighting" Chris explained

"Can you sleep after New York?" Tony asked her out of nowhere

"Not really... probably different reasons to you but I have spent a lot of my time just terrified and fighting an entire new species. I knew aliens existed but I never thought we would be fighting them like that" Chris explained

"I keep having these nightmares about it... I don't know what to do" Tony told her

"How about talk to the woman you love about it. Pepper might be able to bring you some level of comfort" Chris suggested

"You think that is a good idea?"

"Tony... I can't make that decision for you. I have far more different ways of coping, yet also similar" Christina said

"What do you mean?"

"You throw yourself at these suits... I throw myself into working hard. New York was possibly one of the hardest battles I have faced but it wasn't my first... I had this newbie on training in 1999... a lovely woman, but she nearly got the two of us killed as we encountered this assassin. I was scared like hell, but I'm not scared for my life... it is those around me I am terrified for. After the entire battle happened and there was us majorly outnumbered, we somehow survived. She demoted herself to desk duty while I threw myself into many other cases so I wouldn't think about it" Christina explained

"I never knew about that"

"Because I wasn't allowed to tell you. You honestly have no idea how much better this is with you knowing" Chris stated as she walked upstairs with him and saw the news blowing up

"Did you see it?" Pepper asked Chris

"Tony showed it to me" Chris nodded

"Don't worry about it honey, let's get you to bed" Tony said and Chris pulled a face before she went to her own room and was about to take a shower. She got herself unchanged and saw her entire new amount of scars from the 4 months. She grabbed her robe and covered herself up and started the shower

"Shit... JARVIS, can we turn down the temperature?" Chris asked

"I am sorry Miss Stark, it is at the lowest point" JARVIS answered

"Do we have any ice?"

"Yes, we have ice down in the wine cellar" JARVIS informed her. She started the bath and made her way downstairs in the robe and started to grab a bag of ice

"What are you doing?" Tony asked her

"Cooling down the bath" Chris answered as she was about to walk pass him and he took the bag

"How long were you in Russia?" Tony asked

"5 months. The lead was in Russia and I don't think I left" Chris answered

"Chrissy, you got to get to some form of normality... please"

"It isn't that easy Tony. My body is for some reason too use to that climate... I am gonna need a lot of time" Chris told him as she took the ice and walked off. She poured it into the bath and waited for it to melt before she got inside.

■The Next Morning■

Tony walked upstairs form the garage to see Chris sat on the floor near the window
"You okay?" He asked her, getting a small nod in response
"If you're coming with me to see Rhodey, I will have to carry you" He said

"It is fine" Chris said as she got up off the floor. She wore a strapped jumpsuit which had shorts instead of the usual trouser look she went with.

"Chris... where did they come from?" Tony asked as he hinted at the scars all on her body

"I don't know" Chris answered him, she was walking past him as he grabbed her arm, out of pure instinct she twisted his arm around
"Shit! I am so sorry" Chris said as she let go and she covered her mouth in pure shock of what she done

"No, don't worry. It was my fault, I forget you are a super secret spy" Tony said

"Did I hurt you?" Chris asked

"No, it is fine" Tony told her as he saw a small tear fall down her face

"I am sorry" Chrissy cried as he pulled her into a hug

"Chrissy, you didn't hurt me"

"I know but I should've done it. I shouldn't have that part where I can consider myself a possible danger to you because of my instincts"

"You'll never be a danger to me, let's go get some food and human interaction"
