The Day It Started

October 31st Halloween Day...

Toni's on her way to her bestfriend Veronica's house. She left her comfortable sized house at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon. She grabbed her Maleficent costume, her bag of spare clothing and her keys. She made her way out the house, but not without checking if she had everything first.

She made her way to her black Land Rover Range Rover. She entered the car, putting everything in the passenger side and brung the SUV to life. The brunette turned on the radio and set it to an appropriate volume and began her way to Veronica's place.

Veronica throws this annual party at her place, for celebrating quote, "A night of chaos and disturbance." Toni always found the reason weird, but that was her bestfriend, so she had to suck it up. Toni isn't really fond on parties, so she only goes to the ones with close friends, being that those are the only people she would even think to conversate with.

She arrived at the penthouse and was met with Veronica's most trusted butler, Smithers.

"Hi, Toni. Veronica's going crazy because you're not 20 minutes early, so I think you should hurry." Smithers said as Toni chuckled.

"Thank you, Smithers. Have a nice evening," Toni said as she was making her way to the elevator. She got a 'you too' from the older man and proceeded her way to the elevators. She clicked the floor three and was shortly let off. As if Veronica could sense, she looked out of her door and saw Toni getting off the elevator. Veronica groaned as she made her way to meet Toni.

"Where the hell have you been?" Veronica questioned as Toni just laughed.

"If you have that much impatience, you're never going to get a lover." Toni said, Veronica putting a hand on her chest, pretending to be offended.

"Well, if you be more... happy, then maybe you'll get a lover." Veronica snapped back as Toni just nodded and sucked her teeth. Toni looked around but nothing was up. She turned around and Veronica was sitting on the couch.

"Okay. Why did you bring me here to 'help' if there was nothing to help with?" Toni asked as Veronica shrugged slowly. Toni squinted her eyes and sat next to her.

"So what's going on in the life of Toni Topaz?" Veronica asked as she put her phone down.

"Honestly? Same old, same old. Taking photos, being in the house damn near 24/7. Being... me. I call it," Toni said as Veronica rolled her eyes. Toni quirked a brow and Veronica sat up some.

"You have to get out. You have to explore, Toni. You only go out when you have work... and to see me. But your life is boring," Veronica exclaimed as Toni nodded.

"And what you exactly mean by 'get out?'" Toni questioned, doing the quotation marks with her fingers.

"That means you have to date someone, Toni. You haven't dated in almost a year. You're not lonely?" Veronica explained as Toni sighed.

"I'm not lonely because I have you. I have the people I have now and that's all I need. One adult relationship was enough." Toni said as Veronica groaned.

"Actually, you've been in a total of about... 4 relationships your entire life. Two of them being the most effective to you. So I think that you would like a girlfriend, but they've made you have some high expectations." Veronica guessed as Toni shook her head.

"That's not the point, though. I can't be out here, trying to make something with this photography bullshit, and have to worry about someone trying to make my life about them. And yes, I may have been in two emotional relationships, but that doesn't mean I want another one." Toni divulged as Veronica sighed.
