We made it to the hills and my leg was aching, it must have been the landing.

The vines carried us to the top of the mountain and we landed. There was no one else who was around, thank god, interacting with giants is exhausting. Since my mother's magic disappeared after my sister, and father died I had to do everything.

I rose tree roots, mud, and grass from the ground to create a house. It took all of my remaining energy to create a small hut.

We slept on the floor. I was sick of living like this. Ever since I was born the war was going on. I don't think anyone remembers how this started, it just happened and we continued.

I saw my mother sleeping, she was asleep the entire way. Was she that tired or was she dead? I crawled towards her and quickly checked her pulse.

It was barely there.

 "Oh no,"

I whispered out loud. How could this have happened?

I sat there frozen in shock and fear. I don't know how long I sat there but it was morning now.

I re-checked her pulse, it was a bit better than last time.

I was well-rested so I decided to practice my magic and I added a few beds, bedside tables, glasses, and chairs. They were made from various things like grass and sticks for the bed, and mud for the glasses. I couldn't create a table but I wanted to continue and train more.

I wanted to create a room in our shack. I had to keep my eyes open for this to work. I saw green and brown swirls all around me and a wall was growing.

It was made from roots, sticks, and grass.

I was drained from all this wandless magic and staggered to a bed.

I woke up gasping for air, "Another nightmare" I sighed. "Well better get to work," I said to nobody. I planned to heal other giants and mermaids and figure out how this war started. I wanted to win the war no matter what, even if it was for a slightly bad cause. We needed more soldiers on the battlefield. I practiced controlling vines, throwing them, allowing them to heal giants, protect me, and making deadly attacks. I was an Earth giant, the most common kind I thought bitterly. Air giants were the rarest. I wondered if there was a way to learn all. A new goal, find a library nearby and get find some books on giant magic. I wasn't feeling that bad, not like last time where I was about to collapse from exhaustion. I took a little break to go check on mother. I kneeled down and carefully took her hand and felt her pulse. It was stronger, but how did this happen? It was a question that was nagging me at the back of my mind. My thoughts stopped when I felt my mother's pulse go down. She was dying. I did learn healing magic but I was worn out and I wouldn't be able to practice more magic for a long time. My mother was important but training for the war was a lot more important. I had to let my mother die, even though she was the only family I had left.

I buried my mother in a grave near our old village since I could now move to different places and appear and leave. I left our old village to a library nearby which luckily a few water giants had cast a spell that would repel fire away. I walked in and felt a crisp wave of air hit me. I immediately knew where to go since my parents use to take me here all the time. I went to the history section since schools were closed and I never remembered what started this war. I skimmed through books and books and books but couldn't find anything. Was there really no book written about this ongoing war? That was really odd. Something was very odd about this library itself.

There was a rustling sound in the next aisle I went to go check it out. There was a bit of silver hair. Not like an older person's hair but it seemed naturally silver. An air giant I thought. I went in and was about to reach them but a huge blast of air hit me. "Hello, are you dead?" I heard a voice say. I groaned and opened my eyes. My head was hurting badly. I saw two sparkling blue eyes. Definitely an air giant I thought to myself. I got up and felt very dizzy. I was about to fall down again but that air giant helped stabilize me. I finally got to look at the air giant. She had silver hair, blue eyes, and was wearing a shirt and pants. It looked like she had lots of cuts, on her cheeks, arms, and it seemed like her upper eye was somehow removed.

" Hi, my name is Aella. You're an earth giant right?" she whispered. I asked why she was whispering. "There is someone else in this library that I was trying to find. He's after me." Aella told me. That must have been the weird feeling I got. "Those cuts look awful, can I try and heal them?" I asked her. She glared at me "These cuts have been cursed to continue to bleed for eternity, the fairies cast it on me while I was fleeing my village." "Wow, I also was fleeing my village," I told her. She then looked closely I could smell her breath. It was an odd feeling nobody in my family ever hugged me, we weren't a very touchy family. "Wow your eyes are super green," she told me. "Um thanks, I guess." it was a very odd compliment and I was still confused on why she inspected me so closely. "Your hands look like you've had a tan." "I was outside for a very long time it would have taken up to much magic to stop my skin from becoming a bit dark," I told her. She seemed satisfied with my answer. I asked why she was here and she was also looking for a book on how the war started. These were way too many coincidences, but she seemed nice and was a giant. She told me that she and her friend were escaping the fairies and he was hit by a curse. "He ran away from me and is now on the fairies' side. I'm trying to find him and reverse the curse," she told me. I told her I could grab him with my vines and she agreed. I closed my eyes and felt vines entering from the door. "I need you to tell me how he looks so I can direct the vines to find that person" "He's shorter than me, red eyes, black hair that's extremely straight, and is wearing black." I felt the tingle of dark magic and the vines grabbed onto it. "Get ready to cast the spell!" I yelled out as he was coming closer and closer.

"Boom!" a huge gust of wind blew around us and landed on him. Aella grabbed him into a hug and started blabbing everything that happened to him. His hair looked like the ocean so many types of blues mixed together it was beautiful. His eyes were green just like mine, and it looked like he had a flower crown but with ocean animals instead of flowers. He was wearing a white shirt and blue pants. It was simplistic but extravagant both at the same time. "Oh my god, Brishon why did you do that. You were so weak you couldn't fight off the most simple spell of all time." I heard Aella say to him. So Brishon was his name definitely a water giant I thought to myself.

I wanted to ask them to live with me since I hated living alone and they seemed like nice giants. I heard myself asking them. I wanted to stop my mouth from talking but I couldn't. I looked down to the floor knowing that they would say no, but instead, I heard an Of course and a Yes I would love to. I was excited about three completely different giants living in the same place. Accept Aella and Brishon seemed like they would be fine together it seemed like they knew each other for ages, which they probably did while I was just intruding on their wonderful friendship.
