"Death." Izuku supplied, trying to act like he didn't really care.
Aizawa nodded. "Death. And your foster parents'... less than stellar behavior, as well as all of this," he gestured around the room, "legally,"
"We have guardianship!" Mic exclaimed happily. He shrugged off his husband's glare. "You were taking too long."
Izuku blinked, staring at them in shock. "I'm sorry?"
Mic laughed. "What with UA and dorms and such, your homeroom teacher is your caretaker. Given the fact that he's one of your guardians and a hero, UA can pull a few strings to give him temporary custody until everything gets sorted out."
Tears welled up in Izuku's eyes. "Y- you mean... Mr. Aizawa is my foster dad?" Mic nodded with a wide grin.
"And I'm your other foster dad! And uh... Sho?"
Aizawa rolled his eyes. "And Eri is your foster sister." Izuku blanched. "And Shinsou." Now was the moment he nearly choked on thin air.
"I knew you guys adopted Eri, but Shinsou too?! B- but don't you already have enough kids to take care of? Won't I just get in the way? I can't even help out and-"
Mic held up a hand to stop him. "Hold on there, little listener. Who said anything about all that?"
Aizawa nodded. "Kid, if we didn't have the space, money, or time, we wouldn't offer. That's just life. But we do. You're my kid, in more ways than one. I'm not leaving you to deal with whatever hell of laws and foster homes."
Izuku sniffled, and it wasn't long before the waterworks started up. "T- thank you," he said wetly as he tried to wipe away tears. "Thank you so fucking much." Mic grinned.
"Of course kid," Aizawa said. "But I might have to limit your time with Bakugou. You've cussed more in five minutes than in the entire year I've known you."

"So why didn't you tell me about your foster parents?" Aizawa asked as Izuku slowly ate the hospital food. It was slow going, and Izuku pushed it away several times, only for Aizawa to push it right back.
Izuku looked away, out the window and into the sunny courtyard below. "Ryuko said he already tried telling the police. They never believed him. And I didn't want him in the system too." He smiled bitterly. "Lot of good that did me."
Aizawa exhaled. "Yeah, kind of stupid kid. Not much we can do about it now." Izuku grumbled and took a bite of stale rice.
"If Ryuko has an aunt, why didn't he just go to her in the first place?"
"Said he didn't want to deal with court or his parents trying to keep custody. Planned on waiting until he was an adult."
Izuku nodded. "Makes sense." The two fell into silence shortly after. Izuku had cleared a little under half his plate, and refused to eat anymore, claiming he would throw up. Thinking back on recent events, Aizawa didn't doubt it.
"By the way, Ryuko said he wanted to visit you." Izuku perked up at that.
"Really? I could see him?" Aizawa shrugged.
