"Deku, are you sure? We saw on the news-"

"Let me guess." Izuku cut her off, suddenly irritated for literally no good reason. But at the same time, what business did the media have in his life, what business did they have spreading it all over the place and shoving it into the faces of his friends? "Breaking news; a woman by the name of Inko Midoriya tragically commits suicide in her own apartment." Izuku spread out his hands as he spoke, looking at something with almost unfocused eyes, as if he were presenting something that wasn't there.

A few classmates nearby turned to look, including Shoji, Yaoyorozu, and Katsuki to make a few. "The name Midoriya is most widely known by the first year UA student Izuku Midoriya, most notably from the sports festival where he pathetically broke his fingers in a futile attempt to win a useless competition." Izuku glared, making Uraraka back away a bit. "What's even more, is that this same pathetic excuse of a child is responsible for his mother's attempt, being that instead of just saving a little girl when he first saw her, he decided to drag it out into a scenario that stole the quirk of an upperclassmen and the life of a pro hero."

Izuku refused to let tears well up. He refused to cry right now. That could be done in a bathroom stall when he inevitably broke down. "Midoriya did nothing but cry for at least an hour, putting the mother in more danger, before finally having the ever so bright idea to call a fucking ambulance. Shocker." Uraraka reached out a hand tentatively.

"D- Deku, I didn't mean-"

Izuku pushed the hand away. "You didn't mean what? That the fact that my mother tried to kill herself isn't all over the news for you to see and gossip about? To go on your accounts and post shitty stuff like "my friend's mom tried to commit suicide. Soooo glad that didn't happen to me'? Do you want me to tell you all the crappy details?" Izuku shot sarcastically.

Iida blinked, recovering from his slight stage of shock. "Midoriya, please calm down. We simply wanted to know if you were stable right now."

Izuku laughed in disbelief. "Yeah. Sure. I'm totally stable. My mentor died in front of me, my mom tried to kill herself, and I'm living with strangers, but sure. I'm stable." Uraraka reached out, maybe to grab his hand or to hug him, but Izuku didn't give her the chance. He turned and walked away, his head down. He didn't even know what he was saying or doing. He still had to participate in the training exercise, but the wall wasn't totally off limits. Those shadows were looking like a great hiding spot.

Izuku leaned against the wall and didn't look up once, save for when Aizawa finally came outside. By this time, everyone was standing around awkwardly, put off by the tense feeling. Aizawa scanned them all over, a bit confused about their silence. Usually it took four seconds for them to notice him and shut up.

Aizawa shrugged it off and took a sip of his coffee, glancing at his papers. "Alright, listen up. We'll be doing an exercise with robots. As in, the robots from the physical entrance exam." He looked up with tired eyes and added, "Have fun with that, Todoroki, Yaoyorozu."

Shoto didn't react, while Yaoyorozu shifted awkwardly. Aizawa continued. "Two pointers are weak, only one of you is needed to take them down. Three pointers travel in groups, so at least three people. And for the big finale," he stared them all down with a shit eating grin, making the class shiver. "The zero pointer."

The class exploded.

"What!?"

"THAT thing!?"
