"Name and age, sweetheart. It's going to be just fine." Izuku took in a shuddering breath, forcing himself to squeeze his eyes shut and focus on the voice alone.
"Izuku M- Midoriya, fifteen," Izuku spoke as clearly as possible, never ceasing his attempts to wake up his mother.
"Alright, now what's happened to you mother?" Izuku tried to keep himself from breaking down again.
"Sh- she.... I don't know. I came home and she was passed out and she's pale and there's pills and she has anxiety and those are anxiety pills and I don't know what happened or if she's alive but her heart is still beating but it's too slow and-" the officer on the line cut Izuku off as the boy began rambling, practically forgetting to breathe. Izuku took in slow shuddering breaths, wiping at his eyes in a vain attempt to stop the tears.
"Alright, sweetheart. We'll send an ambulance right away. What's her name and your address, sweetheart?"
"I- Inko M- Midoriya, door 1800 at Musufatsu Kanashie apartments," Izuku stuttered out, tripping over his mother's name. The sound of more clacking filled Izuku's ears, accompanied but the pounding of his heart.
"An ambulance and police squad are heading over right now, do not attempt to move Midoriya and do not touch anything that may be considered evidence. Please remain calm and do not panic." Izuku nodded even thought the officer couldn't hear him and the phone line hung up, leaving Izuku in painful silence.
The freckled teen suppressed the need to curl up next to his mother and snuggle under her arm, repressing sobs. Izuku pressed his ear to Inko's chest yet again, trying to find the thud of her heart over his own labored breaths and pounding heart. He couldn't care the silence and began talking, rambling and muttering, doing whatever it took to fill in the silence.
After what seemed like years, the only thing keeping Izuku sane being the slow thudding of Inko's heart, a loud knock came from the door.
"This is the police!" Izuku sprang up and ran to the front door, pulling it open and looking up at the officers and emergency response workers with a tear stained face.
"She- she's in her bedroom," Izuku breathed out, multiple people carrying a stretcher rushing inside. The police followed shortly after, one officer staying behind with Izuku.
"Hey, hey kid. Look at me, kid." Izuku folded his arms over his chest tightly and looked up as his entire body shivered. The man had light, dusty brown hair, and brown eyes flecked with gold. His skin had a slight green hue to it, signaling a quirk or genetic mutation. This detail kept Izuku distracted as he tried to calm his panicked breathing. The man put his hands on Izuku's shoulders, hoping to ground him. "Hey, it's going to be okay. Come on, I need to get you outside."
"I want my mom," Izuku mumbled, eyes unfocused as his eyes leaked but he seemed to forget that he was crying. His voice seemed to forget as well, as it stopped hitching except for a few hiccups and sudden intakes that went unnoticed by Izuku. "I want to go with my mom," Izuku began tugging against the officer's grip, trying to move to his mother's room where slight shouting had begun.
"Hey, we're all going to the hospital, I promise. You'll see your mom very soon." Izuku's eyes widened as the doctors appeared in the living room, carrying his mother on a long white stretcher, the green haired woman bound down by straps to keep her in place. Doctors shouted orders at each other, but all Izuku could see was his mother.
