THAT ILLUSION || Chasing the call of the chasm.
Earth is haunted, and they have come to save the earthlings before it's too late.
The Narngon school of magic is the only source of remedy for this silently perishing world. The trio of infamous queens...
"Certainly! Along with my buddy, I'm here to take you home Ms...?"
"Oh! I'm Eir and this is Serephina and.." she was cut by an intruding voice.
"Well, I'm Mordana, Mora in short." She concluded it.
'Seems like someone's interested!' Eir's words echoed on their minds.
'It's nothing sloth, I was quickening things. You were way too slower than a hungry snail!' Mordana reasoned it and latched their talks.
"Sounds different! I'm Aaron and this is..." He turned around to realise that he was alone.
"Who?" Serephina questioned with a controlled giggle.
"That crazy junk! Ops! Sorry ladies, give me a minute," stating that he ran towards the market side.
He reached for a man who stood near the vegetable vendor and kept bargaining. Aaron stepped near him and held him by the collar to get them distanced by some feet.
The new face was masked by the amber waves of Aaron. When he stepped slight right, those grey eyes and his sharp jawline were visible. His raven-brown dusted, unkempt hair flew along with the scarce winds. On seeing that, Eir felt a tingling thrill down her spine while the other girls noticed it. Yet, they chose to enjoy it wordlessly.
When these mocking knocks were engaging these girls, Aaron and the new boy were having a hard exchange. Aaron's rage was evident from his gestures while the other man kept nodding his head with an average smile. Suddenly, the new man started walking while Aaron kept yelling while following him.
After what seemed like a common encounter between strict and freelancing men, they were finally in front of them.
"Amigos! This is Hugh. Please to meet you Eir, Mora and Sere," he extended his palms to Eir. She did a brief shake that thrilled her again to colour her cheeks crimson. Soon she sighed out a smile and was trying to relax.
"Hughh? What?" Mordana made a confused look.
"Not Hughh, it's Hugh. That's my name and if you would wish some shadow and hydration I think we should keep moving. Mom would be waiting there and this sunny noon is never a good time to visit Aramaur," he clarified them.
'Aramaur! So it's this place?' Mordana asked in her mind to which she heard a maybe as a reply from Serephina.
'Wow! We can talk through our mind. I was worried we wouldn't be able to do it anymore,' she cried in enthusiasm.
'Oh please we are on Earth and we can do anything here like Aetherth. Stop being freaking much,' Eir's words sealed the link and she quickened her response to Aaron to not let them get doubted. Still, none were sure of who anyone was.
"Oh! Okay. Pleased to meet you, Hugh. We are ready to accompany you and Aaron. How long would it take?" Eir asked looking at Aaron.
"Not more than some fifteen minutes in a horse cart my blue princess," Hugh responded while he gazed at her blue eyes.
"That's pretty quick then let's take the horse cart then," Serephina accepted his option when Eir was barely acquainted with her surroundings. Indeed, she was in a parallel world and that's not Aetherth. These odd sensations did tinker her well.
With that brief beginning, they boarded a wooden cart that was run by a man of his mid-sixties. He tied his three horses that were grazing the bushes around and greeted the women with his wrinkled smiles. Hugh and Aaron occupied the seats near the rider while the girls were sitting in privacy inside the cart chamber with their satchels.
"Eir keep yourself oriented, please! It was a lot obvious," Serephina teased her while Mordana kept her mocks low.
Eir glared at them for a few seconds but it made them more notorious than keeping them within limits. Knowing her odds, she gave off trying more.
They tossed up and to the sides as the wheels rode over the mud craters and pebbled rocks. They felt better when they climbed a smooth black and white road. As the twenty minutes ticked off, the rider let the horses neigh a halt.
Before the trio could get out and do the deal, the boys had made it swift and silent. As they noted them getting down, they took their satchels into what seemed like a cottage. The black timbered, ancient archaic cottage stood in the middle of a forty-acre field. The little dew flowers with lovely scent welcomed them in the metallic gate that looked like logs tied in a palisading fashion. The green crops were sprouting around with a variety of edible fruits and vegetables grown in an organised pattern.
The beautiful sight was still not appealing to them as they could know that this little building can afford for everyone if they agree to despite squeezed. Slight grief automated their hearts to beat slow. Mordana's mouth dropped and she looked at the others only to see them whimpering within.
"Hey, guys! Umm... Sorry for this timid question I'm about to ask. Hrgh... Well, are we gonna stay here?" Serephina asked it straight.
The boys gave a regular look to each other to answer a 'yes' in unison.
"Don't judge anything the way your eyes see. See-through them for yourself," Aaron added.
"But how can..."
"Oh, no more questions Mora. Just trust us and walk in," Hugh's words assured them and they walked on the pathway. After all, in this place of unknown etiquette they can trust no one except for them.
As they neared the door that was made of a cracked and swollen wood that portrayed the ancient art of carpentry, Aaron and Hugh kept their satchels down. He took out some normal keys and fixed them in to unlock them. The moment they got to witness the inner aspect of the cottage some chaos and suspicion filled them.
The little house of timber had three rooms, a hall, a kitchen and a resting room. There were the least of the furniture, a sofa and a table on the hall and a wooden cot that they saw on the bedroom. Except for the pieces of furniture, every other thing were overstuffed. Be it the artistic shelves or the cupboards that were clearly visible from the entrance point.
But without any more words, they went in and their eyes searched for Hugh's mother, the only adult these boys told him of. When they could find no such woman in that place their hearts raced faster than the horses or cheetahs of this Earth.
When they turned to look at Hugh and Aaron, they could see them dropping their belongings and stepping two feet back from them. Before the girls could react, a metallic clinging lever sound was heard. In a reflex, they all looked down only to see the base on which they stood opening ajar.
