Part 10

It took me awhile to get to where the sandloters lived. Me and Jordan lived kinda far more out in the rich county side.

"Y/n? Why are you over here so late?"

I focus my attention to Sam's convenience store, and meet eyes with my friend Chuck.

"Hey Chuck" I give a slight wave as I continue to make my way towards him.

"How've you been? You barely come to practice anymore..." he said with a sad sigh

I thought about it for a moment. I actually had no idea. So the only way I know how to react was to shrug at his question

"What are you doing right now?" Chuck asks breaking a bit of the tension between us

"Nothing much, I was going to Wendy but remembered she had swim training" both of our feet start walking unintentionally

"Well my Ma gave me an extra 20 dollars, fairs in town. You wanna go?" Chuck offers

"Oo I heard about that. Sure why not" I give him a closed eye smile as we keep walking

"Two tickets please" Chuck holds up two fingers to the teenager running the booth

"Have fun, dont steal anything" the teen boy hands us our ticket and we both give out a chuckle

"So where to first Phillip?" Chuck asks stuffing his ticket in his back pocket of his Jean's

"The Farris wheel Scaito, you should know that" I turn my head to look at him.

"Well then what's stopping us?" I grab his hand as we walk towards the small line for the Farris wheel. Jordan was never really a fan of fairs after what happened 3 years ago, he thought he was gonna die after hearing a creak of a ride. Hes not a fan. I've always loved to go though, so it's usually me, Chuck, Wendy, and Johnny.

"Y/n, it's our turn." Chuck starts poking my arm to being me out of my dreamy state.

My eyes light up as we approach the seat. I've always loved the Farris wheel, it's just so pretty to see everything.

We finally get seated and the ride starts to move slowly one by one. And as we reached the top I closed my eyes and put my chin to the sky

"What's going on with you?" Chuck asks from beside me

"I feel kinda free..." he chuckles beside  me before leaning his head back too.

"Y/n, theres something-"

"Y/NNNNNN~!" I opens my eyes and look down to see all the sandlot boys waving at me from the twisty twirl (I don't remember the name)

"BOYS! HEY GUYS!" I scream back waving my arms up high.

I can hear Chuck audibly sigh but I dont think much of it.

The ride finally comes to a stop and we get off, and I'm about to bolt to the boys with Chuck intertwined with my hand but I'm pulled back by a tug. But to my further surprise I was pulled into a hug by him, which I gladly return.

"What's wrong with you Chucky?" I smile a bit as he hugs tighter

"It was fun while it lasted. I'll see you on monday..." he pushes me away towards the boys and starts to walk away.

What brought him down so quickly?

I turn my body back to the boys to see them all but benny covered in puke and Smalls looking like hes about to die.

Wait a second...

"OH MY LORD WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO TO HIM!" I start to full speed sprint towards all of them as I catch Scotty before he falls.
