Make amends

"Oh, it's you" he said disappointed, his eyes focusing on Angela, noticing that she was semi-transparent "I see someone has died, shame that i didn't get to see it" he teased, earning a glare from Skeppy.

"Why were you doing this?" Angela asked, ignoring his comment "Why were you trying to kill the Elythrian race? You must have had a motive" she said calmly, catching his attention, he scoffed "And why should i tell you out of all people?"

"Bec-" Abby started, calling some of her dark magic in her hand but soon getting interrupted by Angela "Because i know you're not doing this out of spite or revenge" she said in a firm tone, making him raise an eyebrow "Oh yeah? And what makes you think that?" she smiled.

"I may not be able to remember my past, but i remember bits. I remember seeing you cry beside the fire, i remember you fondling with your mask, looking at it with nostalgia, and i clearly remember you talking about someone. Someone you cared who had been captured and held against their will" Dream tensed up and she noticed.

"Whoever kidnapped them is forcing you to do those horrible thing, i may not be able to help you, but i want to at least try and help that person you care about" she said with a kind voice "Let me help you Dream" Dream clenched his fist, bearing his teeth.

"Why.... why are you being... so nice to me? After everything i did to you.... why are you being so... forgiving?" he asked, Angela could see that he was shaking a bit, she sighed, phasing through the bars, shivering at the uncomfortable feeling that it gave her, and kneeling down beside him.

"I just don't like to watch a person suffer if i can do something about it, besides" she placed a hand on his shoulder "I like to believe that every person can be good if they really tried" she smiled "And you don't look like a bad guy Dream, you were just forced to do something bad, i can see that you regret it" she said in a soft voice.

"Now what do you say, want to start fresh?" she offered him her hand, a bright smile present on her face, Dream weakly smiled back, taking her hand, or at least trying to, since it phased right through it.

"Oh! Sorry" they both chuckled lightly, happy that the tension in the air had been lifted. After that, Dream started explaining his reason for doing what he did.

"They captured your sister?!" Bad shouted, shocked that the elder void demons would do something so vile "Yes, we were walking around the city of Endonia a few years back and i lost sight of her, apparently she somehow managed to reach the portal and fell into it, they've been holding her captive ever since" he sighed "I never wanted to hurt you, i never wanted to hurt anyone... i... i just want my sister back... she's the only family i've left"

"Hold on a second" Angela called, catching Bad's attention "You said the elder demons are the most powerful, why would they need to capture Dream's sister to achieve their goal? Couldn't they just come and do it themselves?" she asked confused.

"No, void demons can't just come and go to this dimension as they please, there's a ritual that needs to be performed and it has higher requirement as higher is the rank of said demon" he explained.

"Yeah, it was a pain to summon Abby, and she isn't even one of the highest ranked one" Skeppy said with a groan "But why do they want Dream to kill all Elythrians? Did they do something to them?"

"You don't know? Elythrians and Void demons have been at war since forever, so long that no one actually remembers why they were fighting in the first place" Abby said.

"But then why are they still fighting?" 

"They aren't, at least not the Elythrians, they stopped attacking us a long time ago, but the elders kept saying it was a trap and that they were trying to lull us into a false sense of security before backstabbing us" Bad explained.

"That's just dumb, why don't they just sign a peace treaty or something?" she asked annoyed.

"Well..." Bad started, rubbing his arm "It's not really up to them" Abby's answer confusing her even more "What do you mean? Aren't they the one in charge?"

"It's not that simple Angela" Dream piped in "They are the highest ranked demons but they take orders from the void"

"The void?" he nodded "It's the entity that apparently gave birth to the first demons, he's the one who feeds them and gives powers to the one who are born there, it's unwise to go against him, since he's more or less like a God" he sighed, facepalming "I found this out when i tried to sneak in and free my sister, who do you think caused these scars i carry on my face?" he said pointing at himself, making Angela cringe.

"Ok... then how do we get your sister back?" Dream fell silent "Dream?" he avoided her gaze, she noticed. Angela walked closer to him, sitting down beside him "You have an idea don't you? What is it?" he cringed, not wanting to say it.

"There.... there is only one way... for someone to go in and make it out alive in one piece.... without being noticed or harmed by the void...." he finally lifted his gaze, meeting her's "It would be... if they were somehow untouchable..." Skeppy gasped, realizing what he meant, realization slowly hitting the rest of the group as well.

"Y-you mean..." Bad started, Dream nodded "A ghost"
