"that was just a nightmare," Maddie said in a comforting tone.
"b-but it felt so real" I replied.
"well it wasn't. go back to sleep now" Maddie said yawning.
the next morning we woke up to a rumble. it sounded almost as if-
"THE WORLD IS FALLING APART" Maddie screamed.
"it's just like in my nightmare" I mumbled to myself.
"quit standing there and run!" Maddie shouted as she was trying to pull me out of the house.
we were running for our lives when I had to take a break. I stopped. right before the ground underneath me crumbled to dust, I heard a faint "wake up" in the air, and everything went back to normal. but no one remembered what had just happened except for me. we were just standing in the middle of the road while cars honked at us to get out of the way.
the rest of the day was pretty crazy. even Maddie couldn't remember what had happened. I tried to make everyone remember, but no one believed me. everyone thought I was crazy.
"you're getting all caught up in your nightmares. it must have felt very real because this is crazy" Maddie said after I had reminded her what had happened.
I couldn't believe no one had remembered the terror that had happened that morning.
Maddie slept over again because she was worried about me. or at least that's what I thought.
"I remember," she said to me before we went to sleep "I remember the world falling apart"
