I ran out that door. The moonlight recreated the beautiful glow upon the leaves. It was 11 PM on a autumn night. I was running from my home. I felt amazing. Free.

"LUCIENE!" Dad shouted at me. I didn't look back. He was a disgusting person. I was relieved to be missing from that ridden house. The beer smell stung my nose. "FUCK YOU!" I screamed at him. I felt as if I could run forever.

I pelted for the woods that marked the edges of our property. I could hear footsteps behind me. He was chasing me, and he was catching up. Tears streaming down my face I threw off my glasses that flew behind me.

The footsteps behind me stopped for just a little bit. Time is of the essence. My vision was a little blurred but I made it to the trees. Branches whipping at my face I kept running. Leaves crunched under my feet. Wind blew in my ears. The footsteps behind me seemed to fade. Was he gone?

Don't think about it. I ran for quite a while, possibly 20 minutes. I tried to catch my breath. Where was I? I glanced around in hopes of recognizing my surroundings. My face burned. The cuts on my face bore blood from the branches. My legs hurt badly from the blind running.

Birds flew overhead. Black birds. I couldn't breathe. Was I dying? I fell harshly to the earth's floor. I was so cold. The wild wind lifted the leaves and blew the branches remaining leaves away.

I accepted the defeat and the last thing I had saw was the beautiful night sky.

Wet droplets pounded against my face. It was cold. I sat up immediately, breathing heavily. Oh yeah. I ran away. I shook my head and ran my pale hands through it. I tried to get most of the tangles and leaves out of my hair before getting up.

I stood up and smoothed out my clothes. My first goal was to find out where I stood. I looked up at the sky. The sun shone through the dull clouds. I guessed it was around 10 in the morning.

Fuck.

I started to walk west. Around an hour or so later I reached a farming field. People all around were gathering foods from the field. I tried to keep my distance and walked around the left side.

I almost got to the other side when a hand rest on my shoulder. "Sir?" The mysterious person said. I turned around and prepared for the worst. I looked up from the ground.

It was a kid who seemed to be no more that 15. "I am a girl!" I stuttered. The person stepped back into someone who was carrying a basket of food. The food spilt all over the ground. "Oh my god Neon!" The person groaned.

So that's their name. I thought. I'm probably going to regret this, aren't I? I walked in front of Neon and looked this person dead in the eyes. I laughed and stomped on the fruit. "Oops."
