Few Days Later: Kuroo's POV

Kenma was going to be coming over in a bit. But he hadn't told me that he was bringing his two cats... I stared at Butterscotch and this other cat as they made themselves a little too comfortable on my bed. Did they really-

"Kuroo?"

"Hm?"

"Why don't we go to the couch instead." Kenma said with a faint smile. I let him grab my hand and drag me out of my bedroom. Alright, guess that cats come first.

When we sat down, Kenma quietly climbed into my lap. We've been dating only a little while, but, we felt comfortable with each other. At least I believe so. I was comfortable with Kenma and his clinginess when he'd come over. But then again, I suppose that this would be natural if he and I were really soulmates.

Kenma moved so he was facing me, his legs wrapping around my waist as he messed with my hair. I watched him quietly before he just pressed his face into my chest. I looked down, gently poking the top of his head which got him to look back up at me.

As I looked at Kenma, I felt the urge to kiss him. And I could. I mean, we were dating now. Yeah, only for a few days but... Huh, would I be moving too quickly if I kissed him after only a few days? Would he get upset? Kenma doesn't really seem to be someone who gets upset over too much too easily.

Honestly, I wonder what Kenma was thinking. Why did he tell me he was my soulmate? Did he hope to get together "again" with me? Did he for some reason remember us or something?? He hasn't brought up getting the reconnection done, but he and I were curious.

My thoughts were broke when Kenma climbed out of my lap. I wondered why he got up, until I saw it was because the cats had wandered over and were demanding attention. Kenma picked both the cats up before climbing back into my lap.

"Take one." He said, making me laugh. I just carefully grabbed Butterscotch while Kenma moved and sat by me. The black cat meowing and climbing up onto Kenma's shoulders while purring and looking at Butterscotch.

"Are you keeping both cats now?"

"Mhm. I can't find an owner for this one." he said, giving the black cat a scratch under the chin. I nodded as the cat purred and climbed off of Kenma's shoulders and crawled over onto mine.

"Ow...! Watch the claws." I said as the cat's tail smacked me in the face. The cat just ignored me and climbed into my lap where Butterscotch was. The two meowed at each other for a while before running off. Kenma laughed and took their place and back into my lap.

"Why do you keep those two so spoiled."

"I like them." Kenma answered simply. I sighed gently, nodding as he leaned back against my chest and grabbed my hands. I watched curiously as he pulled my hands around in front of him. His hands were so small and delicate compared to mine. It was rather cute.

Kenma spent a while, honestly just messing with my hands before he looked down at his own hand. He slid off the ring around his finger, and slid it onto my pinky finger with a curious expression.

"Kuroo?"

"Yeah?"

"Would you go and do the reconnect with me? I mean... you don't have to, but, Takeda said that it could kind of return us to how we were before. Not that I remember..."

"Do you want to??"

"Sort of.. Do you want to?"

"I wouldn't mind. I mean, do you think we were happy?"

"I'm not sure... I.. like to imagine we were."

"Then we'll go do it, and see what happens." I said, Kenma smiling slightly before tugging a bit at his shirt.

"But what if we weren't happy? What if we didn't like each other or something?"

"Then that's something that we will need to discuss together if that's even true."

"Do you think it's true?"

"I can't be sure, but, honestly, I don't think so. I mean, soulmates are usually pretty happy together. And, well, I'm quite happy with you now. I'm sure it'd be better." I said with a small laugh. Kenma blushing slightly and giving a small nod in agreement.

He held onto me before taking the ring back off my finger and sliding it over his own ring finger. He turned around in my lap again and looked up at me. I stared into his eyes before taking in a bit of a breath and leaning closer. Kenma's face just got more red as I closed the space between us and pressed my lips against his.

Even though he and I had no memories of being together before all this, kissing him felt right. Being here with him like this made me feel like I had a part of me that was missing for a long time now.

Kenma held onto my tightly, burying his face into my chest with embarrassment when we pulled away. I smiled faintly, kissing the top of his head before gently reaching my hand down and tilting his chin back to look up at me.

"Kenma??"

"Yeah..?"

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Heh... I don't know, am I?"

"Are you thinking, 'I love you'?"

"Yeah.."

"Then say it." I said, Kenma smiling slightly, giving me a shy kiss.

"I love you, Kuroo."

"And I love you, Kenma."
