Note: This is an incident in the lives of Ruhi and Ahaan from 'Symphony of Hearts'.

⚛Third Person POV⚛
Ruhi had not been herself since she came to visit her parents and it had started worrying them now. From breaking a cup while pouring some coffee for herself to zoning out during dinner, she seemed unsettled. Her parents ignored it a few times but decided to ask her after.
Keeping an arm around her, her father asked-
"What's worrying my beautiful daughter today?"
The question must have caught Ruhi off-guard because she flinched at the question. She stuttered a meek 'nothing' and excused herself to go for a walk. Her parents readily agreed which would have been suspicious to her under normal circumstances but she was too preoccupied to give it a second thought.
She had been out of it since a week indeed but it wasn't due to work, but because of her beloved boyfriend, Ahaan.
They had been in a relationship for the past 2 years and the period was blissful. Ahaan might not be the romantic type, but he loved her deeply, just as much as she loved him. Their parents were happy with their relationship and although they had been hinting at marriage for the past few months, they never pressurized them.
Everything seemed fine until Ahaan started being distant for the past 3 weeks. She had ignored the feeling before, thinking of it as 'work pressure' but she knew she couldn't do so now. Her boyfriend, no matter what, always picked her up from her bakery in the evening. It was an intimate thing for them, they'd talk about everything under the sun, in that half an hour. But today, he had excused himself from picking her up and it had awakened the worry wart in her.
Thinking about Ahaan, she did not realise the amount of time she had spent in the park. The sun had dimmed and the temperature had dropped. Feeling cold all of a sudden, she pulled her shrug further up her shoulders and started for her house. Walking her way back up to the house after roaming around aimlessly for the past hour, she kept thinking about Ahaan.
Was it that he was genuinely busy and that she was being paranoid? Did he finally realize he did not love her? All these questions continued to swirl around her head.
Reaching the floor, she rang the bell. As her mother opened the door, she could hear some whispering from the dining room which was adjacent to the living room, where she was. As she took skeptical steps towards the dining room, she glanced back at her mother, immediately knowing something was up when her mother gave her a big cheshire smile.
As she entered the room, she immediately noticed all the candles that were placed in a heart shape on the floor with rose petals decorated beside them. She admired the floor for a second before looking up to find her boyfriend.
Ahaan was dressed in a blue, washed out jeans with a white t-shirt over which he wore a yellow colored jacket and sneakers. The look seemed familiar but she could not quite point out where she had seen it. Ignoring that thought she was about to walk closer to him when he stopped her.

He went back to switch on the music system instead and a very familiar tune caught her by surprise. It was 'Euphoria' by BTS Jeon Jung-kook of course. She had been blasting the song throughout her house for the past few weeks!
She was already surprised to hear that song played by Ahaan, who wasn't very keen on listening to KPop but she was further shocked when Ahaan stepped forward and started dancing to the song, like Jungkook!
She must have let out a big gasp because he smiled to her and continued dancing. The steps looked poorly timed and he looked very stiff while performing but who cared!? The love of her life was dancing for her and that's all that mattered.
Completing the dance routine he lowered the volume of the song and held his hands out for Ruhi. She placed her hands in his and they started slowly swaying to the beats. Putting her head on his shoulder she asked,
"Is this why you refused to pick me up from the bakery today?"
Ahaan twirled a strand of her hair in his hands and said-
"Yes, this is why I have been distant from you too. Do you think I did not catch you being sad at it? I have been practising these steps with Aisha, your sister, love. It took a whole lot of time to do so too."
Ruhi smiled at his statement and hummed a small 'hmm' to signal her reassurance. She was about to close her eyes while her head was on his shoulders when Ahaan stepped back.
Swiftly pulling out a ring box from the pocket of his jacket, he got down on one knee.
"Ruhi, I knew I liked you the moment I saw you in that conference and getting to know you, it wasn't tough to fall in love with you. You have been a constant support as a best friend and a partner for the past two years and I cannot imagine a life without you in it. So, will you do me the honor of accepting this ring and marrying me?"
He had the audacity to flash a tender smile at her tear-struck face. This man!
Ruhi smiled through the tears as she threw herself at him and hugged him. "Yes, of course!"
He slipped the giant ring on her ring finger and sweeped her up for a a big kiss. She kissed him back with as much fervor, pouring all her love in it. Ruhi's family cheered from behind, it was weird how she had forgotten all about them and she blushed thinking of how they must have felt seeing their daughter kiss and dance but Ahaan later assured her that they had moved out of the room when he started his dance.
"It's about damn time!" Ahaan murmured on her lips. "This ring did not look good sitting in my closet for the past one year"
Before she could react to his statement, he swooped back in for another kiss while her sister hugged her from behind.
The song drowned in the background with the chitter-chatter in the room. Oh well! She will have to ask him about it later. They had a lot of time to themselves now, anyways.
