Under the Starlight: CHAPA X BOSE

5. Bracelet

The crew agreed to meet at the Man's Nest and sort things out one last time before sending Chapa and Bose out onto their mission. They feared with Chapa's short temper and Bose's clueless nature they would need to go over the plan one last time.

"So you have to make sure whatever you come up with doesn't hit too close to home that way you don't spark in front of hundreds of people." Mika walked into the Man's Nest with Chapa at her side, "Please, like that would ever happen to me."

Miles was sitting on the Man's Nest booth with Bose at his side and couldn't help but overhear Chapa and Mika's conversation, "You've got to be joking! I remember last time we were at Nacho Ball -the close one not the nice one, and I said politely that Halloween is so much better than Christmas and you started a fire!"

"What-? THAT'S NOT TRUE AND YOU KNOW IT!"

Miles flinched a little as Chapa sparked, "Okay, I get it! Sometimes I get a little... Passionate. But don't worry okay! It's Bose we're talking about here."

She said while gesturing a hand to Bose, his eyes widening, "Yeaaaa I think this isn't going to work. The other day you almost killed me over my ringtone."

"Yea... But I didn't use my powers on you! Actually, wait I did." Bose nodded as if saying 'you see?' "But that's because we were herrreee, in the Man's Nest. With Danger Force. And Ray. And Schwoz..."

She could see all three of them give her a side eye. "LOOK OKAY! I know how important this is to Danger Force so I promise I'll be on my best behavior tonight. It's Bose you should be worrying about blowing our mission."

Bose raised a brow, "Mission? I thought we were going to the fair!"

"Yea you're right..." Mika started but suddenly cut off, "Actually I'm kidding, I'll be fine... yknowww chill Bose." He said while brushing the top of his shoulder with a slight smirk, earning an eye roll from Chapa and Miles.

"Okay, I guess we're just gonna have trust you both to carry out this mission tonight..." Mika felt even more anxious than before but sighed and continued, "Here. I bought you the tickets online and you should be able to buy the bracelets for concessions and rides with this money once you're in." Mika handed the tickets and cash to Chapa, "Please don't lose them. You've got a couple hours to get ready. Miles will be here later to teleport you to the event and just call him when you're done, he'll pick you both up. Make sure you have the bracelet Schwoz gave you Chapa, and Bose, make sure you're transformed before Chapa puts it on. Okay! I think that's it. You can both be off now. Shoo."

The sun was finally setting and Miles successfully teleported Bose and Chapa to a dumpster near the fair, they were taught to always pop in somewhere dark and empty for extra security.

"Well here we are, just call me when you're done and I'll pick you both up at this same spot. BYE! Have fun." Miles disappeared with a flash in less than a second.

Bose started skipping towards the ticket booth, "Right well LET'S GO. I've been craving churros ALL DAY."

"Waiittttt," Chapa sighed slightly annoyed holding him back with a hand on his shoulder, "You need to transform remember?"

"Ahhh... Right. I'm Brainstorm!"

"Ugh, yes hurry up so I can put on the bracelet already."

Bose reached into his pocket, took out his canister of transforming bubble gum, popped one in his mouth, started chewing, and blew a bubble. Chapa could see a flash of blue and with the pop of the gum Bose was now Brainstorm.

"Good! Hurry before the line gets any longer!" Bose started towards the booth once again.

"Are you kidding me! BOSE! I still have to put on the bracelet!" Chapa grabbed her bag which hung by her side and reached into the front pocket. She dug around for a second or two and finally pulled out the bracelet.
"Found it!" She put it on and with that Bose was transformed into his black & white outfit.

She inched closer to Bose and put a hand up to his face,"Do you really think your face is different right now?" She said poking his left cheek out of curiosity.

Bose couldn't help but chuckle at Chapa's pessimism and curiosity, "Psh, yea! Schwoz is a genius! There's no way he would mess this up. But let's gooooo! I can smell the Churros from here!"

They hurried up to the booth and waited in line, the sun had set by now and it was already night-time. Chapa could feel the breeze start up and the cool air hit her face. She was never used to the cold outside anymore, usually she'd use her powers to warm herself up but seeing as she was not in her Volt costume and she was surrounded by hundreds of people, she just had to deal with it.

"What should we do first? The Frisbee? A Roller Coaster? Ooooo you know one of my faves is definitely the pirate ship.." Chapa could feel herself get more excited as she walked closer to the entrance.

"I'm actually super hungry right now, do you think we could eat first, then some chill rides, then get on to the big stuff?" Bose was obviously still thinking about his precious Churros.

Chapa agreed, she could smell the stands of fried foods and they smelled amazing. "Yes! But we have to get one of those funnel cakes with the strawberries and ice cream. GOD it sounds SO good right now."

Bose found himself smiling down at Chapa once again, he rarely ever saw her this excited for anything, "No way I'm sharing one of those with you. Those are my favorites!"

Chapa laughed and agreed, she could swallow one of those whole if she was dared to. They were finally at the ticket master, "Two all day bracelets for unlimited rides and one for concessions." Chapa laid out the cash on the counter top.

"Actually it's two for concessions." Bose butted in and Chapa elbowed him in the stomach as lightly as she could.

"Owww?" He whispered holding his stomach in pain, even if she went easy on him, it still hurt like crazy. They both smiled politely to the lady at the counter, "Just the one for concessions." Chapa continued.

The woman handed them the bracelets and receipt and they started off into the fair.

"Why'd you only get one? HOW AM I GONNA EAT MY CHURROS?"

"Chillout! Here give me your hand."

He looked at her with a confused face as she grabbed his wrist. He looked down and could feel her hands were soft, softer than most. He noticed how small they were compared to his and how cold they were. He wondered if she was naturally this cold or if it's because of the weather...

Chapa grabbed the bracelet and put it around Bose's wrist. "Now I'll just make sure you can slip out of this..." After she secured the bracelet on him, she took it back off and slid it on her wrist.

Chapa laughed, "Now we can just take it off and give it to the other when we want something see! We just saved ourselves an extra 20 bucks!"

Bose had to snap himself out of his trance. "Ah haha Nice! What should we do with that?"

"We?" Chapa shook her head and started off to one of the concessions, "Oh, Bose..."

I'm so sorry this is so bad! I want to keep the chapters short but I also have so many ideas for the story! Thank you all so much for 700 reads! I really can't believe it! Please give me ideas for the story too if you have any. I'm so happy to be back after all my school work and getting grounded, I'll try to update as much as I can!
