Maze runner- they/them-newt

The arrival

Ok hi guys I will be writing a maze runner story of a person called eco and they come into the maze. Also they use they/them pronouns so if u think it is plural , it is not and you will probably tell when it is talking about eco and when it is talking about the group. Also this is just a fanfic of the original book by James Dashner so I give credits to him I guess . Hope you like it!
Oh ye one more thing, Eco is pansexual. ( when you don't care what gender the person is ) and Newt is bi in this story. -creator

They woke up suddenly, hands shaking on the cold steel floor. Looking around, they could see that they were in a cold metal box, bars for walls,going up like an elevator. Their hands started shaking and they gagged violently before puking through the bars on the floor. They got up, knees about to fall, and bones that felt like twigs. Where the hell am I? They thought. Don't panic .... That was when the realisation came in. While trying to search for their name at the back of their head, they realised that they couldn't remember anything. Soon their breaths started coming in short spurts as they tried to remember something simple like their parents but nothing came. Just short flashes here and there. Only one thing was clear and that was their name. They were sure about it.

Suddenly, a bright light shone up ahead. They looked up at the bright sky and after a minute or so they could finally make out what was above them. They finally opened their eyes fully and saw a couple dozen or so boys looking down at them. Not soon after the whispering came and one of the boys threw down a rope with a loop on the end. "Step in and we'll lift you up, Greenie." He said. He had dark skin and no hair. "Come on you shank!" Said another boy, this time asian with jet black hair.

Not soon after, they were out of the box taking in their surroundings, they seemed to be in a large area surrounded by walls and openings in every wall. There were 3 dozen or so boys, not a single girl. The boy who had thrown down the rope stepped in front of them and said, "That's weird, we already got a greenie yesterday,Thomas." He pointed at a boy with dark brown hair that looked utterly perplexed.
"Anyways," he turned back to face them. " My name is Alby, I'm the leader here. Over there is Minho and Newt. Who are second and third in command if I am not here." He looked at them sternly, "Something is fishy about you." Alby said, frowning. "Don't mind him, he thinks everything is fishy." A tall boy with blonde-brown hair said. He had a thick accent but kind eyes. "I am Newt and I am second in command y-" He got cut off by the asian boy, Minho. " Enough with that shuck nonsense, Alby is leader, then comes Newt and I am the Keeper of the runners. Alby will give you a tour and then you will find a job in the days to come." He dusted off his hands as if he had done a heap of hard work. "What.. " They said utterly confused and panicked slightly. "I don't even remember anything, and now i have to work?"
"Oh about that.. Everyone's memories get wiped, so no one knows what it was like before the maze but your name will come in a few da-''''Eco." They said interrupting Alby. "Mine name is Eco."
"Well then let's get on with the tour! Follow me." Newt said walking off towards a tall structure. But as soon as Eco took a couple steps forward they felt light headed and everything turned black as they collapsed on the ground.
