"Y'all come in and make yourself comfortable dinner will be ready in 20 mins. Y'all will be sleeping in the guest bedroom which is Chase's old room. Ahh I'm so excited my baby is here." She said in excitement.

"Wait you letting them sleep in the same room....hell nah not in my damn house." His dad spoke up outta nowhere.

"Carl please your son is grown. Plus we only have one room." She said.

"Ok and? he can sleep in his room and she can sleep on the couch simple as that." He said flicking through channels on the tv.

"Carl!! Stop being rude....you guys can SLEEP in Chase's old room." She said.

"Aight ma thanks." Chase and I went upstairs heading towards his room. It wasn't all that bad pretty big actually.

But his mom came knocking on the door. "Yea ma?" Chase said dryly.

"I just wanted to make sure y'all settled in....I'll be downstairs." She said before we heard footsteps walk away from the door.

"I know let's hope she can give us some privacy."

"I mean it is their house, we can get a hotel if you want. Is the reunion here or somewhere else?" I asked.

"It's gonna be at a place that my family owns. It's pretty nice out there. The place is huge with 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms a pool and wide open space. They go all out to be honest you'll see when you get there. " he said while hugging me from behind.

Shortly after we were at the dinner table beginning to dig in. There was a good 7 minutes of awkward silence before anyone spoke. "So you guys are graduating this year are you excited?" His mom spoke.

"Yea I'm happy it's been a long 4 years but I made some amazing memories at the university." Chase said holding my hand.

"That's good I'm proud of you son. I can't wait to see the things you accomplish in life. You have my full support." She says taking a bite of steak.

"Thanks ma I appreciate it."

"What about you Aurora what's your plans after graduation?" His dad said giving me a blank look while chewing.

I hated his demeanor whenever he spoke to me. It was like a imma just ask questions like I care but I don't give two shits kind of attitude. I never knew what his problem with me was but it always made me mad.

"I want to be an interior designer. I'm planning on opening my own business for it." I said finally trying to control my tone.
