A small snicker turned into full-blown fits of laughter as [A] leans into the chair, leaning onto the arm of the chair, clutching it as they gasped for breath. "Oh my god, [B]. Please, how did you even manage to do that without them noticing you," he managed to reply out between his breathless cackles.

[B] gave him a grin, simply shrugging. "I have my ways," he chuckled, his gaze turning from [A's] alluring eyes to the fire in between them. The cold autumn nipped at his necks and cheeks, however, the warmth of the blaze managed to keep him protected against the dropping temperatures.

Bags of marshmallows and chocolates lay on the side table, long forgotten by the two. Instead, [B] turned his gaze to [A] who had started to ramble on about his own similar experience. Clear words from his voice became a gentle buzz, and [B] gave a small hum and chuckle to show he was listening. [A] looked absolutely breathtaking near the warm light of the fire, highlighting all of his features, whether they were perfect or not, [B] didn't care. [A]'s eyes were absolutely stunning too. When focused, they'd be narrowed and fixed onto whatever [A] was working on, or other times, those caring gaze would be on him, giving him undivided attention, [B] would be absolutely enamored by them. [B] would've laughed at himself and cackle at how cheesy he had just described [A]. God, it'd be stupid to say out loud, wouldn't it? [B] wasn't the most poetic.

It took another minute for [B] to realize [A] had stopped talking, staring at him expectantly. Shit, was he supposed to say something?

[B] gulped, glancing away. Fuck, his throat felt dry as hell out of nowhere. "Sorry, uh, could you repeat that?" he asked, staring off into the trees few meters away.

"Oh, uh, [C] just texted me. They said they'd not be able to make it so that we can continue on without them," he told him, and [B] nodded, somewhat glad he could have some time with [A] all to himself. Was that selfish of him to wish? His thoughts screeched to a halt when he looked back at [A] and saw his eyes gleaming with mischievousness. "Let's go inside, it's getting colder here and your face is red from it," [A] stated, taking few precautions to make sure the fire would exterminate itself without causing damage to their surroundings. [B] hummed in response, getting up and taking the food, popping a marshmallow between his lips.

As sweet as the fire was, [B] had to admit that being sheltered in a warm house was much better. He took off his jacket, looking around, and his eyes lingered on a specific area of the living room, where years before, the three friends (including [C]) would often build pillow forts. A soft smile placed on his lips, recalling the memories. As he stood there, he failed to notice [A]'s observant gaze on him, seemingly recognizing the look on [B]'s face.

"[B], help me get the blankets from upstairs," he called out, ignoring [B]'s confused glance. "We're gonna make a pillow fort tonight," [A] announced, grinning.

Spending his night inside a sleeping bag. That was what [B] had prepared himself for. Sitting next to his longtime friend, who'd eventually grown into his crush, under the dim and gentle lights of fairy lights was far from that. A movie played on a blank sheet in front of them, and the two sat next to each other, shoulders brushing and [B] staring at the movie to distract himself while [A] glanced at him every once in a while. Nothing was spoken between the two, the audio from the projector filling up the silence.

Eventually, [A] seemed to have enough of this silence. "You know, [C] told me something a few weeks ago," his stare was fixed on [B].  A small hum was the only response he got from them. "They said somethin' interesting," he continued, sparing a glance to him. "He said you liked me back when we were camping out, during the summer."

[B] hunched up, keeping their eyes focused on the ground. He bit his lips, recalling their trip during the summer.

Noticing his silence, [A] shifted closer to him, giving him a small nudge. "Hey," his voice dropped down softer than before. "I'm just wondering if you still have the same feelings... Because I certainly do.."
