(Aru POV)

"Ughhhhhh," Aru groaned, scratching her head. She was currently attacking the monster that is algebra homework, and, to be honest, Aru wished she could be anywhere else doing anything else. She would even clean her closet to not do homework.

Ok, so I have four options:

1. write that the x=some number because it does and move on to more worth-while things, like binge-watching a TV series

2. disintegrate my homework with Vajra and make some random excuse

3. ask Mini or Aiden for the answers

4. scribble over my homework and blame non-existent cousins

But before Aru could narrow down her options, the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!" she yelled as she scrambled down the stairs, grateful for the distraction. Aru opened the door to see Aiden fumbling with Shadowfax's strap, looking as good as always with his green hoodie and jeans, and smelling like fresh laundry. His hair seemed to be dusted with afternoon sunlight aand she was getting off-topic. Aru felt her cheeks flame as she leaned against the door frame.

"Wassup Wifey," Aru said.

"Hey Shah, my mom decided to go do some errands, so she sent me over to your house," Aiden explained.

"Ohh, I was working on math homework," Aru sighed as she let him in, "The most important question in life truly should be why we even have homework, it's utterly useless."

"It's not useless Shah," he said in a tired tone, "but you sound like you need help."

"Shoot, there go my plans," Aru thought.

(Aiden's POV)

Aiden followed Aru into her room and was greeted by the sight of her table, covered with papers. Ohh boy, this was going to take a while. He grabbed a chair and helped Aru with her homework. Looking over at her, Aiden felt heat suffusing his face. Aru looked cute when she studying, and he was hyper-aware of the small space that separated them.

"Wait, what? No, no, you only like Shah as a friend, besides even if you did have a crush, she wouldn't like you back." Aiden thought desolately. Aru's voice broke him out of his thoughts.

"Earth to Aiden, Helooooo," she said waving her hand in front of his face.

Aiden blinked and shook his head, "Yeah?"

Aru pointed to her homework.

(Narrator POV)

And just like that the two 'friends' passed the time laughing at each other's jokes and sarcastic comments. Time flies as when you're having fun, and soon an hour had passed

(Aiden's POV)

"When's your mom getting back?" Aru asked, glancing at the clock. It had been an hour, and my mom would be back soon.

"She should be here any moment now," Aiden said, feeling something like disappointment. Aru's face fell, "b-but maybe i-if you n-need help with h-homework, I can come t-tomorrow?" Aiden blurted. To tell the truth, he liked spending time with Aru, but this just because he was friends with her, right? He wasn't even sure he believed himself anymore.

Aru looked up, shocked, but that quickly transformed into a smile, "Of course." Aiden smiled back.

As they stood at the door, Aru hesitated and then engulfed him in a hug.

AAAAAAA, Shah's hugging me fdgbhjdfscvbnmjiuoytrcvbnmytx cvbnmkljhgfdcxvbnmuiytfdzxcvbn

Aiden could have stayed like this forever but after a few seconds, Aru pulled away with bright red cheeks that matched his own.

"I-thanks Aiden," she said before hurriedly slamming the door in front of a furiously blushing and goofily grinning Aiden.
