"Hey hey hey! Stretched yet?" Bokuto asked.

"No, I was just on the phone."

"With wh-"

"Kageyama come help me stretch!" Hinata exclaimed.

"That's my cue."

Kageyama helped Hinata stretch as they had been working on improving his back strength and flexibility. He placed one knee on the back of Hinata and pushed, keeping his hold even when Hinata complained. After 30 seconds he let up and Hinata demanded he have the same done to him.

"Okay." Kageyama shrugged.

He sat down in straddle position and leaned forwards. Hinata lifted his knee up to press on Kageyama's back but stumbled forwards as the boy leaned forwards until his upper body was completely flat against the floor.

"No fair." Hinata huffed whilst Kageyama grinned and began to rotate his ankles to loosen them up.

"Can we see your serve now?!" Bokuto exclaimed.

"Sure."

Kageyama got up and caught the volleyball Bokuto threw at him. He headed to the back line and bounced the ball once or twice before raising it to eye level. Then, he threw the ball in the air and ran forwards, jumping high and slamming his palm against the ball. It collided with the floor and bounced back up for Bokuto to catch.

"Nice!"

"Thankyou."

"So, how many years have you been playing volleyball?"

"Zero. I started a month ago when I transferred."

"Holy sh-"

"Language!" Akaashi shouted.

"Sorry Akaashi!" Bokuto called over before leaning down to whisper to Kageyama. "You're officially my favourite Kouhai."

Kageyama smiled shyly and nodded before they began to get to work. They weren't going to play any official games until later. They planned to spend the rest of the morning and afternoon working on key skills. Dozens of serves, receives, blocks, digs, and sets later, everyone decided it was time for a break.

"It's getting pretty late." commented Suga, seeing the darkening sky outside the window.

"Why don't we head to the b&b for the night and start up again tomorrow?" offered Kuroo.

"But we didn't get to do a single match!"

"We can do them tomorrow Hinata."

"Fine!"

They headed back to their rooms, drawing quite the attention as a crowd of thirty or so boys walking through the streets. The owner led them to the communal room where they ate dinner and spent the evening chatting and catching up. Kageyama got to get to know the Nekoma and Fukurodani players, learning that Kuroo and Bokuto were certainly characters but damn good volleyball players.

"But you could give them a run for their money."

"Huh?"

Kageyama looked up and was surprised to find it was Kenma speaking to him; it was expected he would just stay on his game all night and occasionally speak to Kuroo or Hinata.

"You've played for a month and you're good. But it's not just natural talent there. Today you didn't make a single mistake and looked like you had years of experience under your belt. It's odd."

"I guess so..."

"Kenma!" Kuroo called over. "You making friends?"

He waited for a reply but got nothing but a nod as Kenma went back to his game.
