Chapter 1- Stuck In A Tree

"Actually!? It's not that far up- is it?"

"Yes, it really is" Sapnap looked down at the ground. "I honestly don't know how you got up here so fast"

"We could try and climb down" Karl suggested.

"I guess I could try" Sapnap replied, "but I'm going to need you to let go of my hands first"

Karl looked down at their hands and pulled his own away. "Sorry!"

"Nah, it's all good. I just didn't think you liked me thaaaat much" Sapnap chuckled, he was mostly joking.

Karl's face flushed pink- he had developed a small crush on Sapnap over the past few weeks.

Sapnap raised an eyebrow, looking at Karl.
"Anyways..."
He started looking for ways to climb down.

Karl glanced over at a chunk of branches. "What about there?"

Sapnap looked over at them. "Maybe.." He half way stood up, shakily, and crawled over to them.

"Be careful!" Karl shouted after him.

"I'll be fine!" Sapnap shouted back, also at the same time almost slipping off the branch.

Karl slapped a hand over his mouth a bit worried, but still not surprised.

"Oops- that could've ended badly" Sapnap then got to a 'safe' point where he could possibly climb down. "Alright, get over here"

Karl crawled toward where he was, wobbling a bit on the way.

"Be careful dude" Sapnap watched him.

Karl stopped when he got next to him. "Okay okay I'm here"

"Alright- do you want to try and climb down first or.." Sapnap looked at him.

"You're the one in front so you go first" Karl lightly laughed.

"Fine, fine" Sapnap started to climb down as Karl slowly followed behind him, being as carful as possible.

Sapnap slipped slightly since he was trying to rush.

"Are you okay?" Karl blinked, staring at Sapnap.

"Yeah yeah, I'm good. I know what I'm doing probably" Sapnap started to be a bit more careful climbing down and when he was low enough he jumped off.

Karl followed closely after, he jumped down, stumbling a bit, then catching himself.

"Are you good-?" Sapnap looked back at him.

"I'm okay!" Karl smiled and stood up straight.

"Good. Are we going then?"

"Mhm!"

"Alright then, c'mon you're being slow"

Karl laughed. "I am not slow" he grabbed his hand.

Sapnap glanced down at the hand that Karl grabbed and raised and eyebrow. He didn't question it and kept walking.

The two walked slowly down a sidewalk on the way to their house.

"Why are we walking so slow?" Karl questioned.

"It's not me walking slow" Sapnap replied, "I'm walking slower to match your pace because you're holding my hand"

Karl looked down at his and Sapnap's hands. He stopped walking and just kept his finger intertwined with Sapnap's. This caused Sapnap to also stop walking.

"Why did you stop?" He asked.

Karl didn't respond. He had went into some kind of trance, his eyes were set on their hands together. Sapnap glanced down at where Karl was looking and blinked a few times. He started staring too.
