When someone tells you that they have an internship at the Stark Industries, you take everything they say with a grain of salt, even if they are your best friend. Ned had also noticed Peter disappearing in the middle of the school day, even in science, especially to "go to the bathroom". He couldn't help but be worried.

So Ned made up his mind that he would watch Peter before jumping to any conclusions, but when his friend started to show up with bruises and cuts that he knew he couldn't have gotten from Flash, he started to worry that it might have been something at home, even though he knew that May would never hurt a curly-haired hair on his friend's head. Maybe it was a new boyfriend? He had remembered Peter mentioning a driver who was making most conversations with May awkward and believed him until the point he said that the driver was Tony Stark's driver. He also noticed Peter looking more on edge than usual, scanning rooms and jumping at the slightest sound. Ned's worry started to turn into a deep hatred for whoever was hurting his friend, even if it was May.

Then, Peter started skipping school. Ned watched him run out of the building on multiple occasions, stating the Stark Internship about why he couldn't walk home with Ned, and saying that he wasn't allowed to talk about his projects with Tony, no matter how much Ned begged. He would sometimes catch Peter in dark alleyways, stuffing something into his backpack, and tried to peek in to make sure that it wasn't drugs before Peter would quickly zip it closed and swing it onto his shoulder, away from his friend.

Ned knew that this had gone too far, and decided that he would follow Peter home one day, and check in to make sure that he wasn't in a gang or getting into more fights than he could handle. So he quickly texted his mom that he would be late before following his friend onto the subway, turning away so that Peter couldn't see his face. Several stops later, he exited a couple of seconds later than his friend, turning down an alleyway that would take him to the apartment, but took a little longer so that Peter wouldn't be suspicious that someone was following him.

After walking down the familiar route slowly, leaving about a 5-minute gap from when Peter walked in and when he walked in, Ned walked into the empty elevator before pushing the well-worn button to take him to the 5th floor. After the doors pinged open, Ned walked down the hallway, taking out the emergency key that the Parker's had given him for, well, emergencies, and silently apologized before stepping into the apartment.

He quietly walked down into the living room and watched the man in a very expensive suit apparently lecturing Peter before gasping loudly and dropping his backpack as Tony Stark, Iron Man himself turned towards him, pulling down the signature dark-tinted sunglasses and smirked at him. " Hello, Ted. I've heard a lot about you from Peter here." He whispered out a faint " Ned" before promptly passing out on the floor at the feet of his idol.

A/N.

Hello! I realized that I haven't introduced myself at all. I'll go by Pigeon, which is one of my many nicknames, and I just barely started writing again. I wrote and read a lot when I was younger, but stopped, and have since realized that writing really makes me happy. I suck at dialogue, so I am sorry.

I love Supernatural, Sherlock, Harry Potter and Marvel. I am a native English speaker, so I don't really have any excuses for mistakes. I can't really think about how to finish this section, so if you have any questions, let me know!
