I Want It That Way | F.G. x Reader

Start from the beginning

"Dude, I was literally dying of worry to come save you guys after Dr. D told me what happened than I get here to know you were all chill and singing Backstreet Boys?" I ask in disbelief. As predicted, Jet and Kobra don't even react while Poison pouts and Ghoul has the most stupid grin on. I roll my eyes. "Great," I mutter sarcastically, moving to untie them already and start by Ghoul.

As soon as he's free, Ghoul starts jumping around instead of helping me in a way I kind of regret releasing him first, but I should've known better.

"Come on, let's get the hell out of here," I take my gun in hand while Jet is still massaging his wrists. We will solve the rest of the matters later because what matters the most now is us getting out of here alive instead of saving the place which's already a lost cause.

"Let's fucking go!" Ghoul says and I'm confused for a moment because he's nowhere to be seen and the dumbass is already running out the door with his gun in hand when I finally find him.

Idiot. I must protect.

Soon, we are all following him and only need to kill a few Dracs – four, to be exact, they didn't cause us much trouble – to be able to get out of here.

"You're coming to the diner," Ghoul says once we are out of the building, following me to my bike instead of going over to Trans AM with the others, what confuses me at first.

I narrow my eyes. "Why?"

"You need to return my vest to me!" He says with a grin as just removing the vest and handing it to me. He starts jumping his way over to the others without even giving me a chance to say anything – specifically, after Party almost approached and dragged him over to Trans AM.

It's funny how Ghoul always looks like he's high on sugar, but not so funny when you remember it must be the effect of any mental disorder resulting from the terrible life quality we have out here in the Zones, something quite common, actually. I smile a bit, shaking my head to myself, and take the vest with me as hopping on the bike and following Trans AM back to the diner down Zone Four.

Ghoul wasn't exactly wrong in making me go over to the diner by forcing me to return his vest to him. It isn't something I'm exactly proud of, but I'm always promising to go to the diner and never really do it. To be honest, they're so nice while I'm so annoying and I like them too much to allow them to get annoyed with me.

The ride isn't actually a long one and, soon, I'm parking the bike a few feet away from Trans AM once it comes to a stop. Like I already imagined, Ghoul jumps out of the car and comes after me before the car even stops properly.

"Hello!" He grins, wide eyes observing me excitedly. I hum with a playful glare, handing him the vest, but he refuses it. "No, I'll just accept it if we are inside the diner." His expression falls serious and I roll my eyes, a smile lingering on my lips as I nod and let him drag me to inside the building, receiving questioning looks from the others, but they never say anything. I guess they know how Ghoul can be; after all, the Fabulous Four have been together for long now.

Ghoul hums as he walks into the place and he's faster than me, in a way he stops at some point then walks back to take my hand in his to drag me with him. I thought we were going to stop in the main room, just to be proven wrong with us leaving through the dinner's back door and him telling me to climb the stairs to the roof.

"Very smart, aren't you?" I ask sarcastically, shooting Ghoul a look as stepping on the roof.

A giggle comes from Ghoul – he claps his hands together then reaches for the vest, slipping it on before he pulls me for a hug.

If I think properly, I guess Ghoul is the one who's attached to me the most. He's always following me around when we happen to meet and I'm sure he remembers every single thing about me that he's learned so far, to a point he always knows when I'm in a bad mood and knows exactly what to do to cheer me up. Not to mention the way he's extremely clingy and made me carry him around at least twice.

Ghoul is so lovely.

"C'mon," he says gently in a contrast from the electric state he was in earlier; he takes my hand in his and pulls me to sit down with him down on the concrete. "Let's watch the sunset!"

"Ghoul," I say, catching his attention, but he just hums softly as continuing to play with my fingers. "Were you guys really singing I Want It That Way?"

He pauses then looks at me, putting on a thoughtful expression. "Maybe..."

A chuckle escapes my lips with it and he chuckles too, though shyly.

I shake my head to myself, still smiling. "Only you guys... How in the hell did you even manage to get caught like that?" The Fabulous Four are probably the strongest gang out there, so it's a bit difficult to think about them easily getting caught the way they did.

"Oh, Kobra, mainly, I guess. If xe hadn't annoyed Party so much, we probably wouldn't have gotten in without even making a plan, then we were cornered before we could notice," Ghoul says fast with a shrug and turns to look at me with a smile that quickly turns into a grin. "Well, good thing we had you to save us!" He leans his head against my shoulder lightly, momentarily, and looks at me again like if making sure I'm comfortable with everything. So sweet.

"Where would you guys be if it wasn't me, huh?" I tease, watching Ghoul playfully pout. "I've saved you guys in a total of five times so far!"

"Three of them didn't count!" He whines, throwing his head back for a moment.

"Of course," I say unconvinced, chuckling again when he groans in protest. "Stop getting in trouble!" I poke his cheek lightly, but he threatens to bite on it, so I pull my finger away as fast as possible and shoot him a glare – he smirks.

"If it means we have you there to save us, that's a no." Ghoul has a matter-of-factly tone on and doesn't seem like he'll be accepting any argument as he averts his attention to the horizon.

"Taking care of you four isn't my job, sir." Despite my words, I can't erase the smile away from my face as talking to him and, actually, it's not like the Fabulous Four don't help me when I needed it. There's no real problem in me helping them.

"Now it is. Because I said so." He hums as throwing his nose in the air, but quickly turns to me again to check my reaction and offers me a smile.

"Just because you're cute." Booping his nose, I avert my eyes away from him and hold back a chuckle when hearing him gasp.

"You think I'm cute?" It's like if I told Ghoul the most amazing thing in the universe; he brings himself up to his knees, letting go of my hand and cupping my face instead, pressing my cheeks together. I hum in agreement and would be smiling if I could. He grins proudly. "I like you. A lot." And he does the most unexpected thing, pecking my lips. "You're really nice to me! I more than like you," he says as dropping his hands to my shoulders before pecking my lips again despite my lack of reaction.

After a moment processing what just happened, I smile, a blush taking over my cheeks. "I like you too, okay?" I hum, pleased, placing my hands on his hips as pressing my lips to his.
