Ever since she was a little girl, Leila Dayne loved space. She dreamed of one day understanding the stars. Her fathers entertained this, sending her to space camps and buying her telescopes.

There was always a feeling Leila had within her gut that she didn't belong. Unexplained things seemed to happen around her, like her baby blanket catching on fire during the middle of the night or one of her classmates disappearing and reappearing a few moments later feet away.

She was adopted, and had never met her birth parents. The only thing she had from them was a pendant with strange runed writing on it.

When Leila graduated high school, she decided to pursue a degree in astrophysics. She got into one of the best programs in the country at Culver University.

After years of study, Leila got a job studying anomalies in New Mexico. She tried to understand as much as she could about herself and the universe she loved so much.

She doesn't learn the truth until a strange man appears with knowledge far surpassing hers and she learns the truth about her parentage and herself.
