Don't Leave Me

Chapter 9. Sun rise

Harley had been awake for hours, without waking the sleeping Brahms, Harley reached for her phone. It was 4:30 A.M. she just couldn't sleep. 

Harley started thinking about her father

Where could he have possible gone? And to do what? She was angry at him, very upset at his actions but couldn't help wonder what he needed to do he couldn't do with them, or if was just simply too hard to take care of his children without his wife. Whatever the circumstance, she wanted to talk to him.

Harley wanted to call her father, she didn't think he would pick up but it was worth a shot. She slowly shifted a bit, causing Brahms groan a bit and turn his body. That was too easy she thought. He had to have been awake, Harley had sensed it. She wanted to test it though 

She slowly got up, walked to the door and opened it and then closed it gently and waited 

Brahms jumped right out of bed, before he could get to the door, Harley ran at him and he caught her, she wrapped her legs around his waist and put her forehead on his 

"I knew you were awake" she whispered 

"Hmm" Brahms hummed, walking back to the bed.

He laid Harley down and laid next to her, they laid on their sides, facing each other 

"What wrong love?" He asked in a low tone 

"I just couldn't sleep" she said 

He cocked his head to the side and narrowed his eyes, suggesting him asking what was really wrong 

Harley smiled 

"I was thinking about my father" she said 

Brahms eyes grew a bit dark 

"What about him?" 

"Just like what he could be doing now or why he left" 

"Huh" he said 

"I want to try to call him one more time"

Brahms nodded 

"Okay"

Be scooted closer to her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, Harley snuggled into his chest, he kissed her head. 

They couldn't sleep anymore, they decided to get up and watch the sun ride together, it was so beautiful and it have off a peaceful feeling. 

When it was over, Brahms got up and said 

"I'm gonna take a shower"

"Okay" Harley said, getting up and giving him a quick peck on the cheek and padded downstairs to a phone 

She picked up up and dialed her fathers number

"Please pick up" she whispered out loud 

It ring for a second and then a mans voice said 

"Hello?" 

Harleys fathers voice, her heart did a flip 

"Dad?" She asked 

He hesitated 

"Please don't hang up!" She said quickly 

"What is it Harley?" He asked 

"I-I just wanted to say I sent Jack away with Aunt Rose, and I'm sorry for whatever I did that made you leave and that I love you"

He said nothing for a second 

"Harley, I'm not coming back" he said flatly 

"Yeah, I figured that out pretty quick" she said

"I will continue to pay for your delivery's and all of the house finance and all I ask of you is to leave me alone, I left because of you and I don't want to hear your voice so stop calling me" he said 

Harley was furious at this point

"Thank you for paying for everything but I am pissed that you left. I will never forgive you, if you would have stayed, Jack might have been able to still be here. It wasn't even hard but you left like the coward you are and I don't need you to pay for anything anymore! I don't owe you anything and you don't owe me anything! Have a nice life!" 

Harley slammed the phone down, she was so mad that he had the audacity to say that to her! All she wanted to do was to talk to him. Tears started streaming down her face, she was missed Jack and wanted him back, she trusted Brahms now and knew he wouldn't hurt Jack. It had only been about a month. 

How would she pay for food? How was she going to be able to provide for Jack? She needed to tell Brahms she wanted to get a job, but that would leave Brahms and Jack here alone. Uhhh! What to do!

All the sudden, she felt two large arms around her, she instantly knew Brahms had gotten out of the shower, she turned to face him

He picked her up, and Harley wrapped her legs around his hips 

"Did you talk to your father?" He asked 

"I did, he was the one paying for our delivery's" she said 

"Was he?" 

Harley nodded

"But he was rude and I said some words to him and now I doubt that will continue" she said 

She laid her head on Brahms shoulder 

"I'm going to have to get a job" she said 

Brahms sat down, Harley was still attached to him 

"No, my parent left me a fortune" he said 

Harley looked at him and cocked her head 

"I have the papers, everything is in order" he said 

Harley sighed and laid her head back on his shoulder, she was very relieved. 

Harley looked up at Brahms again 

"Do you think maybe Jack could come back now?" She asked 

"You trust me now?" He asked 

Harleys eyes widened, how did he know that's why she sent him away and not because of her father 

"I'm not stupid Harley, I would do the same thing" he said 

Harley smiled, this meant she could get her brother back!

Harley without thinking kissed Brahms, she was so happy and he happily obliged

She pulled away 

"Thank you!" She said 

Harley jumped off of Brahms and rushed to the phone and dialed Rose's number
